This video is such an inspiration❤️❤️❤️❤️…I am 47 years old and basically started drawing in my ipad a couple of years ago. My drawings are awful and I don’t have much talent which makes consistency basically impossible because I don’t see progress; but I am happy to emulate your challenge drawing every day! Let’s see where it takes me🤗🙏🏻

I started becoming more serious about my art around that time too and I also have been drawing every day. I'm really proud of how far I've come, but I'm not yet where I want to be. I just recently got into digital art. Your art is definitely an inspiration to me. I love the softness of it and the depth. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

it's so awesome to see your growth over the past 2 years! my focus isn't on style right now, but to explore more medium and to improve my skills and foundations. i like your drive to meet that drawing goal each week. i started to buckle down and practice drawing close to every day starting last week or so, and i've already seen a tiny bit of improvement so i'm excited to see how far i go. this was lovely thank you mimi :)

I'm not an illustrator nor I consider myself an artist, but I do love drawing and having a full time job drains a lot of my energy, so developing a style has been very difficult for me. But after watching this video I really want to try to schedule some drawing time on a weekly basis, might help me get better at it.

Hi Mimi ! I really enjoyed seeing your artstyle developping, you made such progress in 2 years, this is really amazing. For now, im not really where I want to be because I can't figure out what style I want to persue : in graphic design school, teachers always taught me to not develop one style, but try a little of everything, to be able to please all clients needs. As a result, I dont know if I like better drawing mangas or cottage core cute illustrations... I opened my KZbin channel to keep me accountable and try different styles and technique for a year, and maybe discover what my style is and what I like to draw the best. I hope I'll reach your level sometime ❤️
@MimimooIllustration
@MimimooIllustration 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's totally ok to try different styles! For graphic design it's probably more practical to be able to achieve different styles for clients, but for personal illustration I think you should follow what feels good to you (even if that's different styles) 😊

Answering your final question on if I like my art style or I am not quite where I want to be - I believe I haven't yet cracked into 'my art style' yet but your videos inspire me to continue doing so, I do a lot of urban sketches with archival ink as well as watercolour painting and I am hoping to build an art style in that domain in the months to come! Thank you as always for sharing your insights on how to better myself as an artist, your channel is my rainbow with infinite potential. Love, Niki

Yesss, his is so helpful❤ I’m Just starting to enjoy doing digital drawings, I was very late to computers anyway and have only started doing it till the last couple of years, when I went to art college it was in the early 2000s and tablets weren’t really a thing at our college. Even though my illustration work on paper is quite often line based and realising doing cutting out collage shape type things on Procreate works much better with my art style digitally than line drawing stuff, After watching this video I’m definitely gonna consider the borders around my work for sharing on social media, seems like quite a cohesive way to tie together a feed because my feet is a mix of disability photo stuff, crochet and artwork. Thanks so much again for making this❤

I've stopped doing the typical raster style Illustrations I used to make as I felt like those drawings were never good enough. Instead I moved unto a more vector style and I now find joy in making sleek and clean illustrations and animations. I get a lot of joy from animating, but the competitive nature of the field can be intimidating

You have done amazingly well, from where you started out to where you are now...your video has given me a few ideas for where to start...the drawing every day has to be a great first step, and your limited colour palettes are interesting...as for finding my own style, I haven't got a clue on style or subject, but baby steps are path I am intending to take, I'm in no rush but would love to make a little book for my new born niece to one day read. Thanks for the entertaining and informative video and tips. Your doing GREAT !!!

Thank you for your videos, they’re so well done. I’ve been in and out of drawing and the idea of developing an art style has become this daunting thing, but you’ve made it really simple by mentioning practice and persistence. Definitely going to try focus my color palette for a while and draw one way and see what develops from there.

What a lovely profile and video. It's very helpful to see your journey. I've been a graphic designer for 15+ years, but have not started illustration until this year. It's a slow process. I started drawing every day in the new year, but have fallen away from it and need to start again. I have not developed a style yet and it's something I struggle with. Something that really makes me slow down is simply figuring out what program to use. I started with Procreate and was very excited about it until I saw some quirks with quality loss in it and have now switched to Adobe Fresco which has both vector and raster to work with and I love all the free Adobe brushes. I do miss some of the functionality from Procreate though. I find it interesting to see you using Photoshop. I have used Photoshop all my life, but didn't consider it for some reason to draw with on my iPad. I'm curious as to how it compares with Fresco. Thank you for the helpful videos and I'm excited to be newly following your journey.

I am not quite where I want to be. I have no art style. My method right now is kind of like inktober have a prompt and then draw something based off that prompt.. all of the drawings are reference based. I’m terrified to draw something from my mind (it’s weird in there) lol. I know I love details but I want to focus on Simple for now. I want to find out what I actually enjoy doodling before moving on to digital. I like setting days to draw something tho. I want to ideally get better to actually produce items… scary. But thank you for the video I found it very insightful and enjoyable 🧡

I have a realistic painting portrait style, but not an illustration style. I have not been creating illustrations long enough to develop my own style, yet. I am at the experimenting stage right now, which is fun but I confess it is a little challenging for me as I am feeling a little impatient. Having said all that I do know that there is nothing for it but to just keep drawing. I saw my own style emerge with my portrait painting so I am confident the same will happen with my illustration style T x

Thank you for sharing with us! This is highly motivating. I've also started to get more serious about creating art but I don't have your consistency. I also switched to digital, I am so confused about the layers and the brushes and all the buttons and options and shortcuts. It's fun but still frustrating. I bought a cheap graphic tablet with a software included and it's mind-blowing. I know you use Adobe, I also have skillshare which is also very motivating ( I'm telling myself if I don't have time to create at least I watch someone who does and it's part of my growth). Most of the skillshare classes use procreate and it seems way less complicated than adobe or clip studio that I use. I want to ask if you ever had to adapt let's say something you saw on skillshare using procreate to adobe? Also any points on learning how to use the software? Maybe a video where you explain certain vocabulary (similar in all these softwares)? (Like what is a frickin clipping mask, or how do you deal with highlights and shadow, I just learned that you can have a vectorial layer, etc) Where do I find do it in your style challenges is there like a special hashtag on Instagram? I think you gave us the best practices of how to improve. Anyway always a pleasure to hear you and see your art. Keep up the good work.
