I've bounced from group to group a lot when it came to DnD, not really managing to grab my friend's interest until much later in time. However when I finally sat down and played with my best friends, the people who I knew back to front, suddenly the whole system clicked for us and we made something perfect. I know it can be hard to find people who mesh with you, and are into DnD and tabletop roleplaying games. But I assure you that there's nothin better than meeting people who gel with you, or are on the same wavelength
@kingskelett62653 жыл бұрын
Amen to that.
@Raptanax3 жыл бұрын
It's hard to find people who you can really click with, but when you do, it's good. I've always wanted to build a world based on the player's characters, where they each make a character with extensive backstory, and then I build a world that brings them all together.

@@thezerowulf507 I mean things like necromancy are shady but can be used for good while being creepy. Adds some complexity a necromancer that knows they'll be hated but helps anyway. I got so excited when he said dragonborn paladin, my first character is also a dragonborn paladin, silver 8 ft tall, wields a massive glaive and just completely overwhelmed with guilt, depression and indecision to the point of hilarity, his entire quest is a search for something to provide meaning after losing faith. He's so amusing to play because his entire driving force is a search for meaning in a search for meaning and he'll randomly just wax paradoxically to himself and just be suddenly unavailable as he tumbles down the rabbit hole of his own making. What a great guy lmao

My group is getting going with a new campaign but the last one…WHEW. I told my DM that i wanted to go a dunamancy spellcaster but was not interested in wizard. We narrowed it down to homebrewing a gravity based sorcerer. The balancing was fine until i got my higher level spell slots as most of what i was doing was cc and forced movement from midrange to keep things off the long range damages and healers. It got wild when i realized later on, “hey, 2 disintegrates in a single turn is a little busted”. Lets just say i only got to “use” my 9th level slots 3 times and one was “you can toss your black hole on the tent with the generals, or the hundreds of tents that just so happen to fit within its range perfectly”. Just happy that i was able to reign in the most busted portions to let everyone have a turn in the limelight

@StinkerTheFirst3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it takes a bit of attention to keep everything straight. I had to rewind a couple times. I think the story-teller point is that the DM was able to keep everything straight over a long period of time, and the other players weren't confused. The storyteller realized that he was figuratively peeking though a keyhole towards a rich and extensive storyline.

I don’t actually like 5e. Now, Ima 2e guy... never played 3&4 due to being too damned busy. But 5 is kinda weak sauce comparably. It needs a bit of... well, older editions, added on. I HB everything in my campaigns, but use the new core rules. I will admit I like the streamlined stuff(combat, skill checks, etc... ) but I still think it’s too ‘dumbed down’.
