This is the best explanation of these two practices that I’ve ever seen. Thank you!!!

I found your video last fall when I started full coverage cross stitching. This has been my go to method for starting and ending a single thread on 25 count or greater even weave. I have modified the loop start to match the order I may my X's. I also use a tweezers to hold the short tail on the loop start when I trim it (makes it easier to see what I'm cutting and keep the thread short). Thank you so much for this video!

Thankyou Linda. I knew once how to the single thread loop method but hadn't used it for a long time. Then I forgot how to do it. Thanks for showing us.🦋

This is so great Linda, thank you. I've watched during your stitch and chat and have tried the single thread loop start with two different color strands (2threads / 16 ct. aida). I'm saving this video!!

This is the only place I’ve seen anyone do a pin stitch underneath like that and I absolutely love it! I have been using that method plus your loop method to start on my newest project and so far it’s been great. Question: do you purposely pin it a few squares away in order to secure further by stitching over it or is it just as secure if I chose to pin it directly next to it? Please tell me your ways, wise one. 🙏🏻🙂

😆 Hello! Glad to hear some of my techniques (which I also learned from Flosstube) has been of help 👍 And yes, I choose to place the pin stitch a little way to the side to catch the running thread and secure it some more when stitching over it.

Yes, pin stitch underneath blew my mind! I'm doing this now and I'll try her version of the loop start for single thread. I can never get mine to stay and I've given up.

Thank you so much. I searched the world over before I found you. ALL of the other tutorials, while well done and highly polished, all show how to start and end threads either on Aida or 2 over 2 on linen/even weave. Not helpful as Heaven and Earth designs are 25 ct linen/even weave, one over one. I'm new at this so doing a 2 over 2 on linen/even weave for a HAED...well, I'm not ready for that yet.
