I just did my first Orencia injection, Was on enbrel before this. I pressed the blue button, nothing happening?..apparantly I didn't press hard enough because of my anxiety. So finally did it. SO MUCH LESS PAINFUL than enbrel. Can't believe it.

Thank you so much! Humira and Enbrel didn’t work for me either. Enbrel injections were unbearable for me. I had burning pain that started shortly after injecting and intensified to the point where it was hard for me to not jerk the needle away. I was told that this is unheard of and questioned if I was doing it correctly. I had injected Humira and Simponi, do I don’t think it was me. After such a bad experience, i am afraid to inject Orencia. You have helped.

Thank you, I'm about to start these as treatment for Reactive Arthritis, once a spider bite clears on my foot. I'm used to similar as I currently use insulin (diabetic because I've been on Prednisolone for almost 3 years) Methotrexate made me very unwall which resulted in a two week hospital stay with Pneumonitis and currently using Tofinitsib which is being replaced with this but I'm a little hesitant about using another pen, I know I need to use it and will but still hesitant none the less. Hi. Just did my first injection today. I’ve been on Enbrel 8 years but it stopped being as effective so I was switched to orencia. How are you doing on it? We’re you ever on Enbrel? II'm starting Orencia tonight. Thank yo for the video, very helpful. If you don't mind me asking you, how long does it takes for the medication to work for you? I was diagnosed with RA a year ago. I'm still having a difficult time finding the medication that control my RA symptoms. I was on Humira for 6 months and had little result. I'm in so much pain all the time, I feel so hopeless getting the right medication. My doctor just changed Humira to Orencia and I'm starting it tonight. @@ThinkPraise Orencia didn't work for me either. I was on it for two months, it didn't control any of my pain but instead, I developed rashes on my scalp and forehead. I'm completely off modern medications now. I'm doing natural remedy, drinking bark and leaves of cassia. They taste like tea and you boil it, drink it in replacement of water or when you get thirsty. Within two weeks, I noticed my pain level went down from 10 to about 5. Now my pain is about a 3. I could walk freely and work on my yard. I have been drinking it for over 3 months. I'm doing great. Please do your own research. There are some studies on cassia treating RA that available on line. You could buy them on Amazon.com and Etsy.com. So far, it the only thing that is working for me. My sister and brother are also drinking it. Both are 100% better. Good luck to you.

Does it hurt?!! I’m starting it today and I am terrified. I have had RA since I was 8 months old and the needle anxiety does not get any better for me. I was on enbrel and that was the most painful medication I had ever taken... it wasn’t the needle that hurt but the medication it’s self. So I’m just curious if orencia is as painful?

Hey Paulina, From my experience Orencia was the least painful biologic for my body. I would say leaving it out for the recommended amount of time, right before injecting is helpful 💗 thinking of you and I hope your first Orencia injection went well. - Janessa

Hey Jahaira , this is a great question I would always say double check your instruction manual. For the Orencia auto click ject pen I use it doesn't require you hold it down the whole time. I still do since I have RA in my thumbs, its more for stability of the auto click ject pen. -Janessa

Hello Regan, this is a great question however moved on to infusion therapy about a year ago so recalling is a bit foggy for me. I would recommend asking your doctors care team to show you how to do the injection even if its not your first time this can be so helpful. Hello Nerseda, the Orencia website says it can take "about 3 to 6 months." to work however it also says, "Some people see a reduction in signs and symptoms in as early as 2 weeks." Hello T Lynn, My experience with Orencia was a positive one. I unfortunately switched medications again since I still had aggressive joint deterioration in my feet ( mostly toes) I am now taking rituximab infusions. I liked my experience with Orencia though I have met two other RA warriors who did not have positive experiences with Orencia so I know it really depends on the individual. Oh DEAR LORD!!! That thing looks hideous!!! I've been doing infusions for a while, but the scar tissue has made that SERIOUSLY painful. I asked the Rheum about maybe trying an oral med again, but he suggested self-injection. I freaked out. Let's be honest. First thing I visualized was a SYRINGE with a needle from hell. He told me there were pens. OH..ok..I can handle that, right? Then these suckers came (like today) and I am completely wigged out over the size of this pen!! LOL And I have to leave that needle inside for FIFTEEN SECONDS? GAH!!!! SHOOT ME. Maybe I need a shot of whiskey or something before I do it?? ;0)

My injector pen has been getting stuck and it’s impossible for me to use like that. I have wasted a few injectors due to that. I’m going to request syringes instead. I don’t like these pens.
