Scene isn't dead!! A decade ago when I wanted scene hair, my hair was waaay too short for me to get the look I wanted. For the past 6 years I've been growing my hair. Now it's down to my butt, all one length, and I'm SOOO excited to cut in some choppy layers and get to teasing again. Ahhh! All my scene dreams are about to come true 10 years laterrr!

Having curly hair is a struggle when you want scene hair, I had it 1 year and a half ago but I stopped straighting it because it was damaged so I got it cut now its growing back, I'm totally going to buy a good wig for this so I can still rock the look 💖🌈🍭

I have a curly hair too and my trick is to go to sleep with a hat (bennie) so you can flat it down. I did this for so much time that my hair is almost but not straight. You have to train your hair to grow a certain way.

@@valeriacortez7003 No one in my city doesn't seems to do it. Plus sometimes perms are a hit or miss for people I don't wanna risk the hair damage. it may make me wanna go back to straighting my hair with heat which lead me to my damaged hair in the first place. Also I don't always dress in scene style so A wig would be a better option. I'm also currently finding ways to make curly hair scene styled so I wouldn't always have to straighten or throw on a wig. But if I ever got tired of doing all that, I'll keep that in mind 🌈

I think it's definitely best to invest in a wig. It's not worth damaging your natural hair. I've also realized that I don't really need to have the traditional scene/emo hair to look the part and like to give my hair a break sometimes bc it doesn't curl the way it used to before I started abusing it and I kinda regret it :( If you want to have this specific style by all means GO FOR IT!! but wiggs are definitely helpful. They're the best protective and low maintenance option and I recommend them for people of all hair types.

*I’ve never clicked on a notification so fast* ALSO: I remember wanting a scene haircut in year 8 when I twas but a bean, and since I didn’t know how to explain to my dad that I wanted it layered and swept to the side and everything, I ended up with really awkward short bangs I had to part in the middle, and since my hair is naturally wavy, it made the bangs look like a freaking McDonalds logo 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m so glad the bangs grew out XD

I miss having my hair like that but im 22, im too old for this. and i have naturally curly hair, i remember not caring what my hair was going through with all the hairspray and straigtening it everyday. i used very good and expensive hairproducts to keep my hair decent but i was still cutting my hair every 2 weeks because of the spit ends, so my hair never really grew longer in that period.

You’re definitely NOT too old! Normal scene hair is pretty casual (side swept bangs basically) and wouldn’t make anyone think twice. But if you have color in it that might be a different story depending on your workplace. But do what you want, it’s your life!
