I do the same method with my paper shredder. I get a lot more paper compacted into the garbage bag.

I heard it's not a great idea to put your shredding into a bag, because the crooks have a machine they can dump a bag of shredded pieces into and it will reassemble them enough that they can steal your account information and identity. So, I just dump my shredding into the garbage dumpster bin, they come around and get. That way, all my shredding are scattered in with all the other garbage.
