Uh huh, and we’re discussing them as characters. I could just as easily have been like ‘we’re talking about stick figures’ when you said ‘Mark secretly enjoys the attention’. What, you think stick figures can enjoy attention? No, of course you don’t. But you’re describing them as though they are alive and so am I, even though they are not and we know they are not. Why? Because they’re characters and as such we are to _imagine_ that they are alive and they are real. That’s literally the concept of suspension of disbelief.

DUDEE I'VE BEEN NEEDING A VIDEO LIKE THIS FOR YEARS I CAN NEVER **NEVERR** DRAW CHARACTER INTERACTIONS-- OR HAVE IDEAS OR HAVE THEM INTERESTING FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER 😭😭💖💖
@chaoticcow43572 ай бұрын
One thing that I wish was included in this video is composition. The composition of a scene is SO important to character interaction and dynamics. You did touch on this a little in the "bigger person, little person", but its more than that. So, to explain what I mean is that there is a top, bottom, left, and right of your page. Central means that your character has focus, this can be good or bad depending on the mood. If you put characters in the open space around the center, you make either a "fish in the sea dynamic" or a "tower in the sky dynamic". Characters being on the left and right of the scene indicate a rivalry, a confrontation. Characters being on the top or bottom of the scene indicate a power dynamic. A villain for example would be above the victim. Next time you draw a character interaction, think about WHERE they are in the scene, because it does make a huge difference and does enhance the interaction and the audience's feelings towards the scene!

Something that's great with this sort of breakdown when you're already familiar with interactions and posing and such is that having it broken down and explained helps you see all the parts. At least for me it does. It helps me figure out "okay, I am here, and if I want to take it to the next level, I need to consider this and maybe add more of that". A lot of this I did know but I had been doing most pose studying subconsciously. Having it broken down was helpful. So, thank you!
