I just want say thank you. I love to draw, but as of recent anything I’d make, felt wrong.. Pieces would be left unfinished, ultimately left to be scrapped at end of the day. Uncertainty and overthinking triumphed fun. Would this sound cheesy to some or over dramatic? Probably. But it’s like finding something you thought you lost, a rekindling of flame that’s been wavering in the wind for the longest, that I can’t believe I forgot art was my safe space, and treated it terribly, much like myself. Your technique of line art is one of the few I fell in love with, and I’ve been working non-stop. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt this happy creating. Truly, thank you 💖

For Procreate users: Monoline is a really good brush for lineart in Mari’s style. I highly recommend it since it has built-in stabilization and its a nice brush overall.

First time I see so many puyo puyo fans since Puyo puyo tetris was released jaja. For everyone who may want to try this and is using CSP, another thing that helps is using Vector layers for the lines, as that means each line is actually a vector curve and you can modify them. You can select them to change the thickness and color by pixels, and also with the "correct line" tool you can do stuff like join lines. It also means that you can use the vector eraser tool, which deletes lines up to wherever there's an intersection. Overall, it gives a lot more control over lineart, which is useful when you are going for cleaner drawings like this style, or are animating, which can save you a lot of time! I will warn that this process can feel very robotic if you overfocus too much, so it's fine if you prefer normal layers. At the end of the day, everyone has different process and you need to be comfortable drawing.

I have always been wondering this, but I use ibis paint ang dip pen hard is the most high quality brush I know when I have to make chibi art I don't know any other brushes 🥲 Mabye dip pen hard isn't the best brush out there, if there's anything else you guys would know similar to monoline? Also I do make sure my brush settings are good, but if there's any other brush anyone else knows please tell me!

i think felt tip pen hard (or soft) is pretty good as an alternative for monoline, just use the stabilizer
