how I draw lips in oil pastel...

Hey you guys! I hope this gives you enough insight on how I draw lips! Realism is still not my best so I am so sorry if I didn't explain everything well. In my opinion lips really aren't really as detailed as you would think. Besides hyper realistic portraits If you were to look at older paintings you would see that the lips are usually made of 4 or 5 paint strokes. So don't let yourself think you need a lot of detail in the lips all the time.

Absolutely love the tutorial! I always had trouble with the lips so it was super helpful :) The pronunciation, by the way, is mun-g-yo, with the "gyo" part sounding like "yo" (as in 'yoyo') but with a 'g' in front. ('G' as in grape). It's the name of a big stationary/art supply brand in my country, Korea :D I have a set, too, and I looooove them.

Never lose your effortless creativity and expression. I learnt the hard way that if you stop...its not so easy to start again. The less you use that part of the brain, I swear it atrophys and dies. Then when you try and draw again...its as if you've never done it before, plus that weird creative part of your brain is empty! Just make sure to always draw! It's a gift that can completely disappear with neglect, always cherish it! Your videos are helping me get started, your attitude is so fresh. I've got my oil pastels and will try to draw along....but its hard, because I stopped drawing for too many years..never stop!🙈
