My friend works in Virginia with persons with physical and developmental disabilities and one of his individuals just got a Traverse this week and he tells me it’s a super cool vehicle and his individual is really happy with it. I actually sent my friend this video of you guys when you first aired it a while back! A side note, I was talking to my son yesterday who is a Virginia firefighter/paramedic about you Cole and he said that your accident ems response was instrumental in the emergency services creating new protocol for responding to similar incidences. My son knows some of the first responders who were on your rescue. Small world! You are doing such great things and I am so proud of you and all you do, you and Charisma are a great team!

It’s great that you have this kind of opportunity, my husband was paralyzed from the waist down in 2020 when he was gunned down in front of our home. He drives our 2007 Ford Edge with hand controls and traverses our stairs sans a stairlift. We got together in 2022 and have 13 kids collectively. We are small business owners who have had to put everything back into the businesses or into our households. I have a home in Illinois as well. He is my best friend and hero and I love your relationship with one another so much! 😊

Hi Cole! I have exactly the same, identical spinal cord injury and I can't imagine driving a car like that. The modifications they did to you are not safe for you to drive. Your left hand, which controls the gas and brake, can slip at any time. Secondly, you should not leave your hand to check other things while driving. I'm sure you can do it too. You need a Tri-pin, the same as the one on your steering wheel Additionally, you need Crescent Voice Scan to check other things. You control it with your wrist. The first flick of your wrist to the left or right activates your inbox, which starts asking you quite quickly what you want and what you need to select. With the second flick of your wrist, you select the option you hear. Movement of the wrist to the right or left. Depending on what you need at the moment. When I move my wrist to the left, I have 5 options, such as turn on the left turn signal, wash the window, turn on the wipers, open the left window. With a flick of my wrist to the right, I have options such as turn on the right turn signal, use the horn, turn on cruse control, turn on high beams, open the right window. Also your steering wheel is too close to jour stomach.

I love it. The cost of wheelchair accessible vehicles should be talked about 😂. Just for people to be able to drive with needs like this the cost is extremely expensive! Our Traverse just to have a ramp in the back for our son who does not even drive costs us over $54,000. Yeah……..

Cole! This is a fantastic vehicle for you and others. Chevy needs to GIVE you this SUV for having you do a real driver commercial for them! With a tiny editing, the could even use this footage with maybe a roadway/parking clip added on. Bring that up to them. The answer is always no if you don't ask. Right? I know if I could not drive my quality of life & independence would drastically drop to an all time low.

Being a quadriplegic driver with a 20 years of experience, it is more comfortable to drive in the driver's seat, just a small transfer, I have a four-point belt which gives very good stability, and headrest has more support for the neck and head, as we know it is very important, we don't want more neck problems, sure!!! Stay Strong...

This is definitely something that I need in my life because currently I can't go anywhere unless my husband is home or can come pick me up. I have a special lift trailer that was attached to my Subaru Forrester, at some point when the car was parked some unknown people tried to steal my electric wheelchair and the trailer. First they had no clue that the wheelchair weighs over 3 hundred pounds. Secondly they didn't know that the trailer can't be removed from the car with the wheelchair loaded on it. What I didn't know was that they had turned the power on my wheelchair on and it was draining the batteries. I also didn't know that they had partially disconnected the chains and electrical hookups to the trailer. As a result the first time I went to drive it after returning home from being out of town, where I hadn't been able to take my wheelchair with us, everything had looked "normal" but I hadn't checked the cover and extra straps that I used to both secure the wheelchair and the cover I put over it to protect it from the elements. I wish that both my husband and I had done that, but we were in a hurry and had to drive an hour to take our daughter to her doctor's appointment and I then had my own doctor's appointment. I had left the car backed into our carport so we hadn't gone behind the car and therefore hadn't noticed anything was different. I did notice that there was a white paint scrape mark on the driver side front bumper which was strange and still don't know when, where or how it got there. As I was driving down the highway driving slightly under the speed limit we suddenly heard a loud noise and felt a change in the car. I had no where to pull over and we were just a few minutes away from the hospital. I pulled into the gas station next to the hospital and we discovered that one of the4 tires had blown out and thankfully I had the spare in the back of the car. My husband took our daughter into the hospital for her appointment and I got the tire fixed. I also discovered that when it blew out it destroyed the fender that protected the trailer and my wheelchair from any road debris. It had also bent some of the metal on the trailer underneath the wheelchair. We still didn't know that someone had tried to steal the chair and the trailer. Whatever they had done was what caused the tire to blow out and they had obviously caused some damage to the trailer in their attempts to remove the wheelchair and remove the trailer which can't be done while loaded. You literally have to lower the chair and trailer lift to take the chair off and then you can go through the multi step process to disconnect and remove the trailer and you need the keys to do it and it is multiple keys and locks and a huge deadbolt locking system that was added and can't be seen unless you know where to look for it. It wasn't until we got back home and drove over to where we have a storage unit owned by a person who also has a machine/welding shop who we were going to have them make the repairs. It was while they were helping us unload and disconnect that he discovered the evidence that someone had been trying to steal and disconnect them from the car. That was also when we discovered that they had drained the batteries and my wheelchair had no power. Those batteries are very difficult to remove and replace and we don't have any electricity in our unit. Not much later whilst my husband was driving the car it developed transmission trouble and it couldn't be driven and the dealership didn't have any openings so my husband took my car and the Forested sat in the driveway and life got complicated and it's still in the driveway dead and unusable.

Good afternoon Cole! Quick question how much ground clearance does this Chevy traverse 2023 offers? I know your truck has a lot of ground clearance. Perhaps , this Traverse is easier for you to drive; however, you are compromising the gro und clearance. I am out in New York and the traverse wouldn’t do too well in the city with all the potholes and bumps on the streets, le t alone in the snow. You can let me know the ground clearance especially on the ramp area. Thank you I appreciate it.

I currently have a Chrysler Town & Country van and have to lean over, which I hate. I notice you have an extended steering column. Does that mean you couldn't get close enough to the steering wheel? Also, doesn't the Traverse have a telescopic steering wheel built in so you can pull it out and closer? Thanks!

Since your talking vehicles, I have often wondered if your adaptive vehicle can be driven by Charisma? As there is no driver's seat, I'm guessing no? That must be a pain on a longer road trip when it is nice to share the driving and necessitates having 2 vehicles for day to day life so you can both have a vehicle that you can drive. This new truck looks perfect for your needs. Sophie certainly seems to have given it the thumbs up! She probably thinks the ramp if just for her to get in.
