6;06 I do the same thing as you, because it makes it more visually "clean" and I can work in it without looking at the other chaptetd and thinking "Omg I still have to do the rest..." and then feeling frustrated

I have the same issue with working in the full novel doc. Have you tried Scrivener? It lets you keep all your chapters separate while being all on the same doc/file/thing. It's really helpful because I can focus on one scene and/or chapter while easily looking at other parts in the book.
