Yes! When I was in similar situation with my narcissist ex-friend and they’d threatened to unalive themselves, the moment I had threatened to send the police to their address being that I don’t take threats like that lightly, the girl went on to tell me that she was just “joking” like who on earth makes such a sickening joke like that? My father is a narcissist and his ultimate weapon was being kind after the explosive fits. I’m the only one he is “afraid of” because I yelled just as loud. Called him out for being cruel to my mom and siblings. And never stopped, never let him get away with it. I am lucky because he was never violent to me, there is no right answer to escape and no matter what, dealing with narcissists can be traumatizing. I still have my father in my life, but my version of escaping was moving out as soon as I could. I went through hell trying to survive with 100 dollars at 19 but I was free. At 23 and created a privileged life, i have no regrets of the absolute pain and trauma and poverty I went through when I left. I am happy, I have supports and a home. I created myself a home. I found peace. Even at the times you feel the most trapped by someone you quite literally rely on, freedom is possible. You don’t have to stoop as low as I did, I got on his level until he realized he couldn’t win. I lost myself and my own kindness. But no matter what, you can heal and everyday is an opportunity to refresh. It’s not too late, you got this. We got this.

I dated a narcissist and one of the most outlandish lies he told was how he joined the military and became a military police officer and one day, he single-handedly took down a cartel boss who then turned around and murdered his whole family in Brazil. Then he told me he was working undercover for homeland security on a top secret operation to take down online pimps. 😂 this dude was a character. And if you didn’t accept his lies for truth, he would rip your head off

Yep! Textbook definition of a narcissist! One trait of a narcissist is being overly possessiveeee, and that's clearly how she was with you. It is not easy distancing yourself from a narcissist, especially if it's someone you've been close to for years or a family member. My best friend came to me once and told me about the way her mom used to treat her for years! I told her that I learned about narcissism in nursing school, and her mom sounds like a classic narcissist. Lo and behold, she found her mom is, in fact, a narcissist. She tries to distant herself from her mom's toxic behavior, but a lot of people tend to judge her because they don't understand what her mom puts her through. My friend always comes to me to rant and express how she's feeling about her mom because I'm the only one who seems to understand what she goes through while everyone else make her seem like she's the bad guy. I am glad you are out of that situation Paris because it's not easy to escape it ❤️

This video was so cathartic.😊🤩My ex had a lot of narcissistic traits. To put it simply, a narcissist does not care about anyone but themselves. They think they are the smartest person in the room, and think their thoughts and feelings are the most important in the world. They cannot see past their own perception of the world. and if you don't agree with them, they will spend all night trying to change your opinion for their own view. Add compulsive lying and a million other things. If you are dealing with someone like this, its most likely not worth it. You deserve better. Thanks Paris. I loved the video. 🥰

Girl as a narcissist survivor cause yes we do survive them after we get out of the relationship, it is a struggle. And my ex had every single quality and plenty honorable mentions. One of his honorable mentions does included making my pregnancy as lonely and miserable as possible at home due to the fact that he couldn’t one up me with that and I got so much attention from mine and his family. Anyone going through a narcissist relationship y’all as hard as it’s going to be please please please leave. Life will never be easy with them, they won’t completely change and when they do show signs of changing it’s only to wheel you back in and then it goes right back almost immediately. They won’t harm themselves trust me learned from therapy that ain’t no one a narcissist loves more than themselves. Sending love and prayer to everyone out there.

Paris you described my dad which makes so much sense from the trauma he put on me during the years to the point where I do not feel empathy for him at all at this point. I had to watch what I say because i didn't want my mom to come see me crying when she got back from work. He always got offended when I didn't buy him food when the food I buy isn't what he likes but it offends him.... when I'm crying or get mad he laughs at my face and calls me mentally and emotionally weak. I wish good luck to the people who are currently dealing with this type of person and remember what they do is not your fault in no way.

Girlll I feel you. I’ve had those irritating type friends before and I had to learn the hard way to cut them off. Some of my biggest pet peeves are people with inflated egos that think they’re better than everyone else, people who brag to impress others and live in a delusional fantasy world, one uppers, controlling people and phony friends who sneak diss a little too much/ are secretly jealous on the low. This girl would give me a headache every day. Oh and the unaliving threats? That’s sick smh I dealt with a dude who was a friend would threaten that same thing if I didn’t date him and it would stress me alllll the way out. Unhinged. Since dealing with these types of “friends” my tolerance has gone way down and I legit no longer want new friends because it’s exhausting. Sometimes you have to give them a taste of their own medicine to get rid of them sadly but I am glad you made it out 👏

Thank you Paris for making this video! I cut off my narcissist ex-friend two years back and all you just mentioned is exactly what I had gone through!! Just to let you know, even if she DID try to unalive herself, it would NEVER be your fault! It is a tactic narcissist will use to guilt trip us; during my own relationship with my narcissist, when she had threatened to unalive herself, I told her that I’d call the police and send them to her address as I don’t take threats like that lightly, tell me why this girl said she was just “joking”? That’s when I knew enough was enough, I cut her off with no warning or sentiment and now I sleep better at night! It’s never easy, but girl peace and sound mind over chaos and disorder!

My own niece is a narcissist and I only just realised that until now (she is a few years younger than me so we grew up together) I cut her off a while ago because of most of the points you made! 1. She would get jealous that I had other people in my life apart from her 2. Every time I told her my plans and goals she would first seem happy for me then immediately make me feel crap about it like it’s unachievable 3. She would always blame me for her self esteem being low 4. During my wedding she didn’t want to help or offer any help yet she was pestering me during my wedding events about taking my decorations and other things for her OWN wedding 5. I knew I couldn’t trust her at all but she always finds a way for you to be comfortable enough to tell her everything 6. Her mum (my sister) is also a narcissist and they would tag team all the time.. I also cut her off too

Hey Paris, I can totally relate, to be honest as I've dealt with a narcissistic family member and I've dealt with narcissists who I wasn't related to, by blood or by marriage and I feel you. Narcissism knows no bounds, just as it does not regardless of the narcissist being a male or a female. I've dealt with narcissists who have been both male and female and not only are they freaking scary and stressful besides toxic, they are so annoying, to include childish and immature. I would like to add that, there's nothing wrong with being 100% real honest and speaking our minds freely but with a narcissist, they will say the first thing that comes out of their mouth and are very self aware of what they say right before and as they are saying it but they don't care and it's all intentional and for attention. Narcissists are attention seekers and take being loud and obnoxious to a whole other level. Narcissists are all sociopaths and psychopaths and they're all equally sadistic. Thank you for always speaking the truth and for speaking up. Hang in there and I hope you're doing okay. I've been through years of counseling and therapy and the healing process never ends, as far as trauma is concerned. You eventually get to the point where you're strong enough to move forward in your life. It's a marathon, not a race in other words. Oh and another thing that is so annoying about narcissists is that, they're so needy and so co-dependent. It's possible that your former friend could be into women or both men and women but not all narcissists are gay or bisexual. It's understandable why one would think that about these narcissists, because they're so insecure, immature, and fully unsure of themselves and are constantly questioning themselves and who they are, as part of the lies, the manipulation, it's a vicious cycle of toxicity, for sure. Also it's so important to know and understand that, these narcissists rarely ever seek therapy and counseling because they don't register it in their mind that there's something wrong with them. To them, everyone else is the problem and they're flawless and perfect and can do no wrong.

I have two narcissistic friends. They hate each other, unsurprisingly lol. One of them is like a master narcissist. When she tries to manipulate me, gaslight me, villainies me, etc etc. if I don’t react the way she wants me to she then will bring her 5yo daughter into it and be like “I don’t care how you treat me, but to hurt my little girl, how dare you” like ma’am, how dare I? You’re the one who tells me non-stop you wish your child was never born, but then when I don’t want to see YOU all of a sudden you’re texting me saying your daughter misses me and wants to see her auntie? (She refers to all of her friends as her kids aunt/uncle to further guilt trip) I have tried multiple times to get her to act like a regular person and not like she’s my nagging wife. Hilariously enough the reason I’m unable to fully get rid of her is because of our husbands.. our husbands are best friends so in order for them to stay friends that means I have to keep dealing with her bullshit

Oh my God this is really giving me flashbacks to someone I was friends with from 6 years old to maybe 22 years old. (I'm 30 now.) She would never be happy for me when good things happened, she was always the victim, she was controlling over what I said, ate or did, she would constantly talk shit about EVERYONE even me, she isolated me from other friends constantly, I could never confront her about anything without her breaking down and acting like I hated her and her lashing out at me. I did all that I could to make her happy because she felt like a sister at the time but enough was enough and I had to cut her off. It really did feel like she was a jealous, crazy girlfriend. I think it all comes down to them just being unhappy with themselves and envious that you're in a better place and they want to simultaneously live vicariously through you and drag you down. I really pray that she's in a better head space. I still genuinely want the best for her but I just cannot be friends with her anymire.

I am glad you got away from her---this is heartbreaking that your grandmother died. I lost my grandfather last year--and I can definitely relate. That's pretty heartless of this girl to be pissed that you're not the in the mood to go anywhere with her because your grandmother died.

Oh sooo relatable! I had a friend just like this! My mom will ask “is she gay?” because she was obsessed with me! She put her name as “My Forever ❤” in my phone, she would be mad if I had other friends or hung out without her, she called me probably 10-15 times a day! We were only friends for 2 years and it was THE WORST!!!

Im gonna tell you something my grandmother always told me. I refused to believe it for a long time but her accuracy was on point. When someone wants to die, they don’t tell anyone. They don’t want to deal with the drama, attention, and attempts to prevent it. The only people that publicize it are either A) manipulators and/or B) people that don’t actually want to die but want attention because they’re sad. She actually said this to me during a point in life where I would have considered myself suicidal and it pissed me off; but she was right. I wanted my circumstances to change, I wanted my pain to stop, I wanted people to be nice to me but I never actually wanted to die. Years later when I actually became suicidal and made several attempts I never spoke a word of it to anyone. So if anyone every threatens you with taking their life, know it’s not a threat but a bluff.. a Hail Mary if you will. Even if she really did do it, god did not put you on this earth to be responsible for someone else’s emotional issues. You were not made to have your life force drained trying to keep someone happy. Your purpose is way larger than that, and If god forbid she really tried to kill herself than her issues went way deeper than whatever was going on with your friendship. There was nothing you could have done.

My severe experience with multiple narcissists. In my life. People who GENUINELY have no remorse, lack comprehension for what they do to others or simply don't care, etc.... alot of what you said were red flags, esp the "lying, deflecting, overreacting or faking anything RATHER than simple communication". Also the "using people/gaslighting or making you feel bad when you've done nothing wrong", etc. So she has alot of the signs, however I've dealt with MUCH worse from these types of people, on many different levels. So even from this video I can't tell if she's a narcissist or just a very annoying/self-centered person. Only you can know from experience of the person or them being diagnosed with it. But I can say, it's better to just cut off ANYONE who drains you in any way or your intuition tells you to stay away from them. I've learned to NEVER ignore intuition. Not even alittle bit.

They don’t like being treated the way they treat others. But Paris, don’t allow this person back into your life. They will try. Don’t let their words or actions manipulate you again. Also, if this person ever does self harm again and says that you caused it. Don’t believe it. Because that’s how they are going to sneak back into your life. They will guilt trip you or blackmail you. Know in your heart and mind that you were not the cause of ANYTHING. They are responsible for their actions. Even if they say “you caused this” “you lead me to do this” don’t believe it. They are harming themselves to gain control over you. Don’t give them that power over you. Im sorry you had to endure this kind of relationship for so long. It’s very toxic. You don’t need that kind of energy in your life or around your family. I hope you overcome this. Overcome any unhealthy mindsets this person caused you and continue to move forward in life ❤

This makes Soo much sense I had a female friend narcissist and I cut her off a year ago and she still calls me trying to manipulate me saying she’s going back to counseling and she wants Closure and how’s she’s not wanting me to back in her life all this bs I heard for years ! And it’s crazy because I called the police on her and they have her a no contact warning and she still calls. She’s tried to committed s****** and then when I removed myself she got mad because her tactic didn’t work!! And she began to guilt trip me and tried to make me feel bad for not staying around her! It’s crazy she would project so much! I have a podcast and I’m cut speaking on my experience!! This video was so helpful and confirming that I’m doing the right thing! And I’m not alone

Personally when I show somebody something that I think is funny and I have HIGH hopes that they will think it is too, but they end up not, I’ll kind of tell them to “laugh” in an aggressive (but obviously joking) way. Only because sometimes it’s sort of awkward after they’re just looking at the video like “uh ok” lol so idk how else to transition. But to be genuinely UPSET is beyond me. I’m glad u were able to escape. And as some other ppl have said, just know it is NOT ur fault if she does something to herself. She just wants u to believe that.

Honestly, I feel like I’ve been dealing with a narcissist but I’m so discombobulated that I question if it was me because i have had moments where I cried at everything. Every time I tried to create a boundary, he would “solve” the issue. I.E. if I didnt want to talk to him for the moment and said ‘I just don’t want to talk right now’ he would ignore me for extended periods of time (multiple days) and say he was just giving me what I want. He would help me when I wouldn’t want to ask anybody and as soon as a disagreement came up and I pushed too far, he would run down the list of things he did for me to show me how he cares about me even though I told him over and over again I hate that.

i hope you know that in 2021, i watched your "this is your sign to leave him" video and as soon as it ended, i contacted my toxic gf at the time and decided to just be friends with her. as you'd probably expect- it didn't work out and their narcissistic behavior was even more apparent than it'd been when we were together. i called it quits all together and now i've been with my NEW gf almost 2 yrs !! my first healthy relationship i've ever been in. it took awhile cus i'd known this ex since we were in elementary but i'm so happy that i made that decision, even though i thought it'd ruin me. 🥺❤️
