Some good recommendations, but not the solution for the Hero8. I had the same issue with the iPhone 6. Fix? Use non OEM batteries: Same lithium tech but different chip controlling them. I had my GoPro die yesterday in 20° weather. I just plugged it in and the OEM battery incrementally went from 0 to 65% in under five seconds, both batteries, both OEMs 65% when powered on warm but dead yesterday at 20°!

Yeah, get a new camera. Even if you get new batteries they will be old and not suitable for cold weather.

If a video file is corrupt, insert the SD card back into gopro, it will fix it. ( finish it)
