Have you noticed how much Supercar Blondie has boomed in the shortest time (growth exploded since June this year)? I subscribed to her like when she was at 30k subs? And that's not even that long ago (like 2 years or so). Now she's almost beating Shmee150's 1.8M subs! Crazy. I guess 'hot blonde' and 'cars' mix well to get subs. She does occassionally have some exclusive access to events and vehicles, I'll give her that. She does seem lovely, is quite pretty as well and all that, but she isn't particularly automotive excellence. Neither is Paul. :P And he ain't no hot chica either.

It's relates to the original commenter's subject of success and subs on KZbin. And me kinda turning it into the topic of 'sex sells' and other strategies. If he'd get a chick to be in the video and thumbnail his subs would probably go up. Or... he'd have to actually make solid automotive journalism happen, with more exlusive access and in-detail looks. Still though, he's ahead somehow of both MrJWW and Seenthroughglass, so he's done something better than them although I don't find that reflected in the content.

It´s much easier to handle the naked cb 650 than the CBR. On the naked bike you sitt more straight up and can move yourself much easier to get the balance.The CBR are your weight on your arms and that limits the freedom to move your body on the motorcycle. I would recomend the Naked bike for a driverslicence test.

What does slipping the clutch mean?
@andrewdent696
@andrewdent696 Жыл бұрын
@TS Don't let the clutch fully out. Hold at a bitting point with a few revs. On a powerful bike, and you want to hard accelerate from a standing start, you need to slip the clutch, or you would flip it.

@@andrewdent696 thanks! What does using the rear break do during a u turn?
@andrewdent696
@andrewdent696 Жыл бұрын
@TS By applying a little rear break, it stops the bike from surging forward too quickly. So by applying a little rear break along with dragging the clutch, you have so much more control. So, select 1st gear, apply a few revs, let the clutch out slowly (to bitting point), and apply a little rear break. Increase revs and let the clutch out a little bit, but keep a small amount of rear break on. Don't let the clutch out fully, control the bike on the clutch and revs

I passed my m/c test in '77 in Jersey (Channel Islands) which was actually harder than the mainland UK test (followed by an examiner in a car for 45 minutes) but that was 8 days after getting the bike. The key difference between our experiences is, I think, that I was on the road 2-3 hours a day, every day, until the test. It's good to have quality instruction as you're learning but it's almost impossible to get away without a certain amount of time-on-road just to get muscle memory and instincts keyed in! And the next VITAL component will be doing an advanced riding course - but that is better once you've put a few thousand miles under your wheels, just to have that level of machine-familiarity. I should add that an advanced course is actually bloody fantastic fun to do - it's in no way a chore or a bind - it's an absolute blast!!!

wups. Luckily you still share the entire journey. Brush off your shoulders and get back at it again. I'd say the CB650R is probably the chiller bike to do the test with. In Austria it's too much fuzz to get your licence and once you have it there's like a multi phase trajectory over a few months time (I did my 125cc licence instead - Code 111 on the B here). I'm probably doing my full one next year when living back in The Netherlands, you just have to show up and pass the test as I understood. Less hassle.

I watched this, then did my Mod1 Failed it and I was just guttered - obliterated the cone on the avoidance. Mod 1 again the same week and failed on the u-turn. Then the pandemic hit. I’m so pissed off with myself. JULY WILL BE MY MONTH - I hope.

Replying to myself: November 2nd I PASSED! Module 2 was booked in but has been cancelled due to the 2nd Lockdown. Rebooked for the end of December. It’s been a long, long year but I’m so excited to be a step closer.

I always recommend everyone does their bike licence. I did mine years ago, was one of the best experiences on a bike and I have had some since then lol. when I drove home after it was all done I called the insurance company to tell them I want insurance on my ZX6R and a deal was done at just £360 fully comp less than one hour after passing, complete madness but I was happy. I love bikes and riding but since I had my accident 3 years ago I’ve not been able to get back out. Not so much because I’m scared of it as I definitely am not as I used to ride on back wheel everywhere, Literally every where I went, but when you lay on that cold tarmac in the worst pain every with a shattered pelvis and punctured lung, bleeding out now know if you are gonna make it to the hospital. There’s a very VERY real thought that goes through your head and it’s one for each and every family member you have and how they will feel when you’re gone. Married with 3 kids, after my operation i decided to hang my gear up and I’ve not ridden since. HOWEVER, I had some of the best years on my bikes (lots of them) and I 100% fully recommend everyone does it, so on that depressing note. Paul I wish you all the best, you’ll smash it next time and I can’t wait to see what madness comes there after. Ride safe, keep it upright and have fun. Need any tips for wheelies I can help you when you’re are ready, learn correctly, as bad advice will see you picking your bike up in pieces.

Try to stick with the same bike from before every time as because beginners will find it difficult to get the throttle control and balance of a bike they have not ridden before. Anyway keep going it took me 3 attempts before i passed the manouvres

That was unlucky. It looks like you leaned with the bike, probably due to nerves and the 100 things going through your head at the time and believe me I know how it feels. Good that you could still smile after it though. I passed my test in Ireland yesterday and our test is slightly different. It has much if not all of the same elements but we do everything out on the road so there is just one test and not two parts like the UK.

missed the right lifesaver on the u turn too, needs to be before you start to turn, not as you do. I passed mine with 3 minors, 49kph on hazard avoidance, missed one lifesaver( don't know where) and and 1mph was too fast on the slow ride?

Gutted for you, the rest you looked good. Just keep saying to yourself head up!, as soon as you look down you lose your balance or run wide.
