What's the most important process of filmmaking for you and why?
@SAAGEWAY3 жыл бұрын
PRe production for me. I’m realizing the importance of good planning so that every one on set is on the same page. Pre production is also usually the most collaborative which can be a challenge when you are used to running and gunning on your own. When you start getting bigger clients or clients who’s vision you are helping make real, it’s imperative that pre production is done thoroughly
@DarkwingproductionsNet3 жыл бұрын
Pre-production because once that's on point, you have a solid foundation to build on and a safety net when things go left.

Pre-production, for sure. Having those agreements (up-front) about what you're trying to produce, who's responsible for what, when and how you're delivering the project et al., makes a tremendous difference (for me). It allows me to focus on the art part of the process and takes a lot of the stress and guesswork out of post-production.

I really enjoyed the concept and motivation of the film. Looking back, what are some things you feel could’ve done better, composition and edit wise?
@BrittneyJanae3 жыл бұрын
Love the question! I think shooting wise I would have used pro mist filters even on the canon FDs. I also would have played more with the light. The client was so particular but I could have played more with it during production. Editing I didn’t have a lot of leadway since she didn’t like anytime I added contrast because she had a very particular look she was going for so there wasn’t much I could do more in post.

@BrittneyJanae3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I actually used a drone for that shot. The original mavic pro. Forgot to talk about that. And I used a 1/4 on the Tiffen, or I used the polar pro mist edition nd filter which is 1/8 strength I think.

Great work as usual! I noticed that when shooting in direct sunlight with these cameras, a matte box helps tremendously to retain the details and contrast. I used my 6k and shot in direct sunlight and learned that the excess light hitting the sensor caused a few clips to become a bit mushy or ashy.

When shooting on the 6K pro do you have any preferences from 4K to 6K for short films? Also working with different bit rates? I'm doing my first cinematic short film (It will go to festival and be a proof of concept for a feature) on the same camera and wondering what the best settings would be.... I'm leaning towards 6K at a constant bitrate of 5:1. Beautiful film! Thank you for your work.

Hi, really enjoyed this BTS and beautiful work. May I know which adapter you used for your Canon FDs? My purchase of the 6KPro depends on this as I have a lot of these vintage lenses. The ones which are there in the market have a glass in them. Are there any options without this glass element? And, if not then how does this glass element effect the image?
@BrittneyJanae3 жыл бұрын
Hey they are ef mounted so no adapter
@DineshBhadwal3 жыл бұрын
@@BrittneyJanae Got it. Thanks for the reply. If you are still hunting for your next camera and since you are a hybrid shooter, I would like to suggest Panasonic S5. For only video, BM 6KPro is unbeatable in the image quality and the workflow in DaVinci Resolve is smooth. 6KPro may be a better choice when compared to C200 since it has built in ND filters now. And, if you want to do both in one camera, stills and video, nothing can beat the Panasonic S5. It has a 6k sensor and also outputs ProRes Raw on a Ninja. For the money saved you can buy good glass, like those cheap Sirui Anamorphics or can go Roger Deakin's route i.e. buy spherical cine lenses shoot on them and resize anamorphic in the post. Best of luck with your purchase! Subscribed.
