all great points and agree with all of them, but gotta call out having a full simulator and playing for a living on youtube certainly helps.

One thing that helped me was making my targets in the largest landing areas. This gave me a lot more leeway for mistakes. Feels great taking strokes off your game and I recently had my best game ever. Shot an 82 and I'm normally a 20+ handicap
@derekfrey36717 ай бұрын
Vey important aspect most higher handicaps have a hard time understanding. Most holes have generous large safe areas to hit to, play away from trouble. Could mean alot of things.. Hitting less than driver off the tee, stop short siding yourself. Stop worrying so much about flag hunting or hitting the green. Miss in the correct area on most holes will leave you an easy pitch or chip, should be bogey at worse. When you short side or hit in hazards is when the score racks up. Just focus on the game 100 and in. Even days when I'm playing bad I can lean on the 100 and in game to keep my sore respectable. If most of my higher handicap friends would let me pick there clubs and tell them where to hit it every shot, they would drop significant amount of strokes purely through better course management.

Great video. I'm currently a 13 struggling / trying to get to single digit this year The accuracy first tip and center face contact tip is awesome. Thanks for the great information.

Consistent ball striking and tempo is what I want to work on this season. I have the MLM2Pro and the ST+ to see where face strikes the ball. I need golf to be more enjoyable when I play - which is why I don’t play as much as I should. Thanks for this video!!

Man I know how it feels. I went from dead at 18 very slowly went down to 10 then back up to 12-13 for a while and finally got myself down to 8 towards the end of last season. I’m happy for you, Frank! We could go even lower. Let’s go!!

Wow, your first trick really resonates with me. Coming out of winter training, I tried 3/4 swings that feels very slow but only lose 10 yards on my full swing carry distances.

Love seeing the constant improvement. My biggest changes were in my decision making and working to eliminate a two way miss. Worked down to a plus.

Great video! All good tips but I particularly like and will be trying to play with the the first tip! Distance is such a big thing that is talked about but as you said the question is never ‘how accurate are you’ it’s always ‘how far do you hit it’

This is exactly what I needed to listen to before the season starts in the NE! Currently a 15.9 handicap, but trying to lower it to a 12 this season. These 3 key thoughts/strategies will definitely help simplify my game. Appreciate it Frank!

So simple but yet soo profound. Focus on accuracy and not distance. I have a Sim and when you do, you focus on distance a lot... More specifically to improve, when it comes to focusing on accuracy, thinking start line is key.

This is all great advice and makes a lot of sense. I struggle with breaking 80 myself and I thought it had a lot to do with course management. But I feel my ball striking lacks a lot. I recently bought a Mevo+ and hope that the season will be the season I break 80.

Honestly, what I find most impressive with the lowering of your handicap is that you haven’t been playing easy courses along the way. Y’all have been playing some tough tracks in Jersey recently. Side note, best hidden Gem in South Jersey, Shore Gate Golf Club in Oceanview NJ. Thank me later.

Good stuff 👍🏻 My goal (for a few years now) has been to: Get to a SINGLE DIGIT HANDICAP … just once in my life 🙄 Unfortunately, I’ve gone from an 11 to my current 14 😩 But I’m optimistic for this season because: 1) I’ve been totally focusing on short game (100 yards in and chipping around the green), and 2) slowing down (tempo) and a slight pause at the top Thus, … Accuracy (over hitting it farther … distance) We’ll see how it pans out 🤷🏼♂️

I only focus on accuracy bc I don't have a clue how far my clubs go, I just started playing. I know my 5h carries around 190-200 and that one I hit straight 9/10 times.

I started the year as a 12 but trending down towards an 11. The couple of changes I mentioned were what finally helped get me down into the single digits.

I purchased the MLM2 pro based on your reviews. Can you tell me how far you have the unit from your hitting area? I can’t get mine to register my driver swings.

Really good stuff, thanks for sharing! The accuracy first concept…how do you do that when coming up to your shot that’s 155 away from the green? I know I’ll be more accurate going with my pw but I’ll be way short.
@Golficity7 ай бұрын
For me, I find that I can be much more accurate grabbing one extra club and swinging a bit easier, focusing on making solid contact as my primary goal. That tends to give me better results than trying to “swing hard” to cover the distance.

Pro tip: thinking about accuracy in your head does not impact ball-striking technique. You have to learn & change technique. This other stuff is icing on the cake, & marginal, compared to techniques.
@andrewholt70755 ай бұрын
The more you focus on accuracy, the farther the ball goes.
