@@gundamzerostrike That's great dude! I remember struggling a lot with chord changes the first like 3 months. I only practiced like 15 minutes a day though. I think it's alright if you don't really search for tips and tricks. For me, some things just come naturally with time. Like a light bulb lights up above my head. After reading up a bit online, it seems playing guitar is full of those eureka moments. I think it's important you try to learn the songs you want to through KZbin tutorials. Even if you don't search for tips and tricks, most of the videos always give you one without it being the main focus and you'll easily pick it up because you're actually concentrating, trying to learn that song voluntarily. Most importantly though, do whatever you want, you'll get the hang of everything given enough time. Have fun playing!

I love your practical tips and good for you for learning barre chords! I am learning barre chords and here is the the most helpful tip that has helped me, which I learned literally last night when for the first time I had a "PHYSICAL" lesson with a good teacher. What I found was that the reason I sucked at barre chords was because of the position I was holding my guitar in. When he corrected how I held the guitar and where I held it in relation to my body, I could put my left hand in the right position for the first time, which until then I could never do. Gone was the grabby thumb and my thumb was now on the back of the neck for the FIRST TIME EVER! I would not have learned this and would have carried on as I was if I had not taken a physical lesson where the teacher could see what I was doing, spot my mistake (that I was completely oblivious to) and correct me. Obviously I now have to practice long and hard, but because I am now physically positioned correctly the mechanics will no longer be getting in my way. Peace and love to all guitar players!

For me I wanted to learn a lot of songs that had a B-chord or B-minor, as I also started learning violin and music theory I realized how versatile barre chords could be and the range of additional chords and variations that could be opened up even by knowing the simplest 4 major and minor chord shapes as barres- A, C, D and E. My main tip is, get your barring finger right up against the fret, that way you need minimum pressure and get maximum reach, you really don't have to press hard at all, in fact if you are against the fret it's counter productive. Once you get it there's so much stuff opens up, right away, I could play absolutely any key just using A-shape, E-shape, E-minor and A minor shapes, adding D/Dm and C decrease the amount of shifting but the Amaj/min and Emaj/min will usually be the go tos! They are just so easy to transition between and slide around!

Barre chords seem dificult for beginners. here is a tip for everyone that hasn't mastered them yet : barre chords mostly use the index finger as base for the barre, think of your finger like a capo, it's there just for the chord to sound higher pitched, also a mistake i used to do as a beginner, was to play barre chords directly on the fret markers instead in the fret, that said, barre chords will stil be a pain because most people are not used to them, so a good practice for it is to play open chords (G, C, A), in their barre version, that helps a lot, by a week or two you should already have barre chords mastered

You can also use your tumb to push down on the low e string. That way you only have to barre the high e and b string with your index finger. This makes chords low on the neck (where the tension is higher) easier to play. But you can only do that with major chords with the base note on the e string. (With minor chords and 7th chords you'd have to barre the highest 3 strings with your index finger wich makes it not that mutch easier than just barre the whole chord) Barre chords with the base note on the a string are often already easier to play :)

Some tips that I wish I knew when starting out. 1: Play to a metronome, please! This set me back a ton when I didn't do it when starting out. Please play to a click or drum track. 2: Don't worry about the perfect technique, play how you feel comfortable. This doesn't mean to not care at all about playing things right, this just means that it is not as important as some people say. 3: Practice, now I know this is a cliche and a lot of people will roll their eyes but please practice over and over until you get that one chord change right or that one lead. This is probably the most important tip here. 4: Learn rhythm and lead guitar. This is pretty self-explanatory but let me tell you some good beginner lead and rhythm parts. Also, these parts sound good on acoustic and electric. Rhythm; Hotel California Strumming Parts (Use a capo, not barre chords if you learn this when just starting out on guitar, later you can use barre chords when you get better.), Smoke On the Water Intro, Enter Sandman Intro, Should I Stay or Should I Go, Back In Black Intro, Paranoid Intro, Iron Man Intro, Wish You Were Here, Symphony Of Destruction Verse, Seek & Destroy Intro, Main Riff, and Verse. Lead; Scar Tissue 1st and 2nd Guitar Solos, Californication Guitar Solo, Smells Like Teen Spirit Guitar solo, Holiday Guitar Solo, Nothing Else Matters Distorted Guitar Solo, Master Of Puppets Interlude Harmony, Hotel California Outro (The repeated lick after the two main guitar solos.). I don't know if you know all of these songs but you probably know some, so learn the ones you would like to learn. Now obviously there are way more great guitar parts for beginners, but these are the ones that helped me stay motivated the most. 5: The last tip is just to learn whatever songs you want, as long as they are not way too difficult. Also, this can be applied to techniques. If someone says you need to learn how to play your scales a certain way but you don't like how it sounds, don't play them that way. Instead, play what you think sounds cool. Also, although it is always good to challenge yourself somewhat. I would say starting with some easy songs riffs and licks like mentioned above, and then branch out and start learning slightly more difficult stuff. That's how I learned, and as I kept branching out to more difficult stuff I eventually got better and better.

I do suggest fingerplucked songs with barre chords. You'll learn to keep your finger in place and tight on every atring. Also, use the curvature of your finger. Place it flat on the board, roll it a bit to the side and position the other fingers, you'll feel it's more "natural"
