Unfortunately, I discovered spots on the sensor of my Canon R5, which the automatic sensor cleaning could not remove. I'll show you how I clean my camera and my lenses in such cases. I also want to talk about scouting locations and finding different types of animals.

I'm glad to hear that you don't give away specific locations. With all the social media activity going on it is becoming harder and harder to find those quiet productive places where you can enjoy the peaceful side of nature. There are far too many ' "chicken chasers" out there who just want to get any image of an unusual bird or mammal and plaster it over SM which usually ends with a whole horde of more "chicken chasers " piling in and disturbing the location 🙄. Good advice on cleaning. A tip I was given early on in my photography journey was to ensure that the lens element is pointing downwards when either blowing off dust or wiping the element as then any bits of dirt on the element will drop to the ground rather than scratching the surface of the glass. Good video as always.

Hmm...Thanks again ,but 500mm ain't most of the time(don't get me wrong) enough for me. As most people say there is no pint of putting a 2k lens on a 6k body like the combo I asked R1+200-800 rf.Yes,the Nikon body has some shortcomings but still that lens is superb.I am confused man. Cheers anyway, Met.

When I have dust on my R7 sensor which is very rare, I usually take the drive mode into 15 fps mechanical shutter and keep shooting while also shaking the camera gently, it always got rid off all the dust. The auto sensor cleaning is always on too but mechanical shutter on these mirrorless bodies especially on R7 causes a lot of shake and doing 15 fps burst for a couple of seconds helps, the longer the better, putting the lens cap on, at 100 iso and switching from raw to jpeg will result in almost endless shooting and shoot a 10-20 seconds burst, you'll probably be good to go.

Thanks for the idea, I never tried that

@FabianFoppNaturephotography Yeah put the lens cap or camera cap directly on the camera and point it downwards while doing that or doing it capless and without lens will result the dust completely fall down but I like it with the cap on using the rf ef adapter.

I use Zeiss lens wipes on my front element - very affordable, and great to have in the bag

I have noticed you are using canon rf 600 f4 canon lens, do you aware the sweet spot for getting sharper image ?

It’s already razor sharp at f/4, so I just set the aperture that fits for the image look I want to achieve

The two lenses are in a totally different league, the Nikon is 1 stop faster

Why spend that kind of money on an R1 body and then put a cheap lens on the front of it. Far better to buy a cheaper body and use the money you save to buy a better quality lens.

@@robertlawrence7958 Thanks for the advice .What if we replace the L 100-500 instead of the 200-800 to the mix?

@Met.Photography to me that would be a better option. I own that lens and it is certainly a good lens but still a bit slow for the general lighting conditions we get here in Wales. I have used Canon gear for many years and I'm pretty much embedded in the system and could not afford to (or want to really) change systems. However, if I were starting from scratch now I think Nikon have a far better range of lens options, particularly in the telephoto range and I would probably go with them. For me, that is the situation at present but I'm sure that Canon will at some point catch up. These things tend to go in cycles and I don't see any benefits in swapping brands all the time as some people do. Best wishes.
