Hi Yvette, I am an international student from Vietnam who is applying for some US universities for Class of 2027 (which is this August), and I have a question regarding proving my financial stability to study abroad. My dad and mom combined income in VND is somewhere around 12k$, not a lot and I'm fully aware of this. Our family does not have any savings but we do have a year to prepare for it before I'm applying for visa. The big question is: If I'm studying on a full scholarship (including everything from tuition + living expenses + plane tickets), would the embassy still look at my family's financial status to decide on whether to grant me a visa? I do not find this information elsewhere on this Internet, so I would love if you are able to answer this!
