I like the part when you say: unless you are Steve Vai, nobody cares about your tone. Finally someone who says it openly! 😄 With these digital toys, we can get amazing tones, or at least good enough to play in a local band. 🤘🏻
@wrashchild Жыл бұрын
Exactly. It’s good enough that only the people who are staring at your pedalboard mid set will be critical of it. Have good songs and be a band on stage.

So true. No one gets a trophy for having great tone. A great player can make anything sound good.

Thank you. I just purchased a GT-1000 core on clearance. I used it at band practice and plan on using it in my music duet on stage. When you set it up right it sounds really good. I’m not selling my tube amps anytime soon though, but I am happy with the sound and portability.

I just bought the GT 1000 Core with a mind to sell my heavy hardware. This video couldn't be more relevant to me. Thank you.

The display, while a bit archaic looking compared to Helix or Fractal, was designed to be visible in most lighting conditions. Too often a highly colorized, pretty display can get washed out & not be nearly as visible as this "old school" design.

I think the GT1000 Core is a fantastic bit of kit.Perfect for small rig with just as big a sound.BOSS are great. I have a Helix Floor for home but still, the GT is solid.The editing onboard may look finicky but you get used to it.And it is deep sound when used properly. Always think of the band and the song.That's a great philosophy. Well done.

The helix is a great unit. I love gear and it’s fun to collect pedals but if you are in a band, for sure think about what’s best for the music and not yourself.

Nice rig. I'm a big fan of GT-1000 Core.

Cheers for the video. I got a Core a couple of years back but still not using it for gigs. I'd love to see how you actually use it for playing a set. At the moment I'm using single channel amp and pedal board for: crunch; distortion; chorus; pitch shift; delay; reverb. Very simple and I'm sure a Core could do that. Thanks again, subscribed and will keep watching out.

It’s a Vital Audio Power Carrier.

I've been considering buying and doing a very similar set up with a GT-1000 core so I'd be looking forward to a video detailing how you utilize it. But I've also thought about getting the Boss GX-100 instead. Any input on that would be appreciated!
@wrashchild Жыл бұрын
I’m working on that video now! I’ll go through the setlist and songs etc. I’ve heard good things about the GX-100 but I’ve never owned it. But as long as it can do dual outputs it’s probably worth getting!
@rjpoole1979 Жыл бұрын
I'm not one to comment on these things but I've had the gx 100 and now have the core and I think the core sounds a lot clearer, esp with your own IRs. I had the blanket over the speaker problem constantly with the gx100 tbh!

Could you bypass the amp modeling in this unit and play the GT-1000 effects through a traditional tube amp?
@wrashchild2 ай бұрын
Yes! Using it as just effects is also possible

Hey man! I'm moving to Japan in 2 months hoping to do the same thing and gig! I've been running straight digital for the past 2 years so I may tryout the amp route again, Where do you play at mostly? Do bars have an issue with reasonable stage volume amps? Thanks!
@wrashchild Жыл бұрын
So, mostly in Japan you don’t really play at bars. They’re bar/venues which they call “live houses”, depending on where you are I’m sure the quality varies but my experience has been great. You can be as loud as you want, but as I say in the video, think more about the band and not yourself.

@@wrashchild Yes, you're right, its the Hotone Ampero. I think the best feature, besides the incredible tones, is that if I want to grab my guitar at 3am, all I need to do is plug in my headphones and I can play without waking anybody up. Loving this modeling thing, although I suppose you could do the same with any amp as well.

Christ the size of that !! Just buy an FM9 better amps better effects better routing better And more ins and outs an editor no failure points with power supplies ……… on and on !!!
@wrashchild Жыл бұрын
Compared to a full helix or Kemper etc, because it’s long and not bulky it’s much easier to use. Plus the DI box isn’t needed But I totally agree with you about the FM9 but the point of the video is that an FM9 is much more expensive than pretty much any BOSS product. If you’re gigging regularly and playing places where it could be damaged, it’s much less of a heart break if it’s something on the affordable side. If you can afford to get Axe FX and not worry about it being damaged because you can just buy another one any time then fair enough.
