Girl Thank You for this video! I took this course last year but stopped taking it because I had a friend say it was a scam! Which she has never taken any courses from this school anyway. Girl I only had 3 more tests to take before I actually got into the exam! I studied so hard for this and even made flash cards and took a lot of notes. Word to Anybody that's reading this, RESEARCH and READ it yourself before listening to friends or family. Some people are envious! I could have been finished with my Medical Assistant of May last year if I didn't listen to that "friend" of mines. Now I'm going back to finish what I started, THANK YOU.

@@mykellilocx992 no its a proctored exam testing site and for this particular course its through the NHA (the National Healthcare Association) You get I believe 2 hours to complete a 200 question exam. There are also remote testing available from home but they are also proctored with highly sophisticated software that makes it impossible to cheat.

My younger brother was diagnosed with NHL right before my dad was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. My father in law was then diagnosed with throat cancer. My time was spent running between different cities to help them. I'm at it again and everyone is doing well as of now my goal is to finish next week. It's a great course!

Not sure how that works and the online makes me nervous because I don’t understand the process after taking this exam through them? It looks legit in your video. If I do this program in Arkansas and get certified here can I still use that certification in other states because my fiancé is active duty Air Force and we’ll be getting married soon so I’ll be going with him wherever he goes.

Yes, the CCMA certification by the National Healthcareer Association is a national certification, so it would enable you to work anywhere without needing to transfer anything. Certifications are different than licenses as licenses need to be transferred in order to work in the state you are moving to.

Hey! I found your video from looking around for reviews on this program. It seems like the online self paced format would be good to do during the summer for me. I’m currently a full time undergraduate student but I want to become a PA and have been at my wits end trying to figure out how to get patient care experience. This seems like a great way to get certified and employed without taking a year for training. I saw a lot of programs like that but they were likely degrees I guess

If you haven’t paid in full then you won’t be able to take the exam an you won’t get your certificate. If you register to take the exam I don’t know how far you will get with that cause you don’t have your certificate cause you haven’t paid in full.

Hi Alycia! I definitely understand, I was skeptical as well! One of the downfalls to the program is that there is no clinical experience. The most you will get from the US Career Institute is virtual labs. I suggest that you figure out what’s most important to you! For me time and money were the most important factors. Any employer that hires you, will train you after you pass your certification exam. If clinical experience/an externship is the most important factor for you, I suggest that you look into some in person programs in your area so that you can ensure you’ll get that hands on experience! I am not sure if the school will help you get an externship because I have never requested help from them. I hope my answer helps!

I think it depends on how much time you have. I see the value in the longer programs, but I didn’t have the time to take a two year program. I needed something quick and I had a job lined up before I even passed the test so not all employers require experience some will train you. The length of time it takes to get a job I think is mostly locational. That’s my personal take on it

They do cover the cost of nha ccma exam certification. Most ma's are trained on the job on top of your schooling. USCI is a good online school, me having graduated from there. I recommend stacking certificates over time instead of getting a degree. However, degrees are great, too. I recommend ashworth college, Penn Foster, university of the people, California Coast University, etc

What is the difference in medical assistant and clinical medical assistant? Is this two different classes? Or do you just choose which text you want to take. Is the price of these classes different?

A clinical medical assistant is trained to do clinical tasks as well as administrative tasks. For example: cleaning off surgery equipment or applying a holster monitor. An administrative medical assistant is only allowed to do administrative tasks. For example: scheduling appointments, processing claims, ensuring paperwork is signed. To my knowledge, the US Career Institutes class trains you for both, and it is your choice whether you take the clinical certification exam or the administrative one.

The certification could be beneficial, it just depends on your location. In some states they are more lenient about experience and in others the market is more competitive. You’ll need to do some research on your area, including looking at current job postings and checking requirements!

This is such a good video! You just motivated and inspired me. Have you come across any organizations or companies that pay you while you get certified or that will pay your way for an exchange such as working for them for a certain period of time? That’s what I am exactly I’m looking for. Unfortunately, I can’t afford paying for this certification course. I’m in a post-baccalaureate program so I can’t afford to pay for a cert. This is so much more indepth than Penn Foster glad that I came across this video I got my Associate degree in this field but I never used it and looking to do it as a refresher course on medical assisting. Did you have trouble in looking for externship.

Not for me, I had a job lined up before I finished. But I also live in a small area, so it definitely can vary depending on where you live.

I only have a mac book - is this ok? I read that you need a CD disk in computer, which I don't,.

Hey Cyn! Yes, this is fine. I have a MacBook Air and it worked fine. I do recommend using chrome instead of safari!

On their website it says complete in as little as four months? Does that mean it can be accelerated if you can handle the workload?

Yes the course is completed at your own pace so how quickly you finish depends mostly on how long it takes you to digest the information and finish the modules (:
