How I Got an Internship at Microsoft

When I was in university, I did two separate internships at Microsoft.
The first one was a data science internship in San Francisco, and the second one was a program manager internship in Redmond, which is near Seattle.

Nah it’s too easy, You only need to have fun with maths, solving math challenges instead of playing boring video games, learn some Machine learning by your own while solving more challenges at kaggle etc. Some people are just complaining because they think you need to be a genius... you are totally wrong guys. you only need to be a standard Alie. I meant Asian (I think they both mean the same anyways 😆)

Sweet P at 24 i went back to school starting at cc and worked my way up from intermediate algebra through calc 4 / linear algebra. Just transfered to uci last fall. Internship lined up this summer despite lockdown. Best decision EVER

Wow. The one he showed in his video is Putnam but I would definitely not recommend that. Try questions from AMATNYC or CUNY math challenge or Euler's Problems.

Personally, I was preparing for the Putnam competition. So, I just found problems / solutions from the past exams online! Actually Putnam was way harder than data scientist interview questions, so I think any books on math olympics would give you a good practice.

Sir how do I develop connections from my college. I am from West Bengal a state in India and no such seminars ever take place just like you had in your university where a speaker from Microsoft came. I was talking to one of my seniors who happens to be a backend web developer about getting an internship at Microsoft and he told me that it is not possible from this college and the state where we live plus he also said that if it is very difficult to apply individually as Microsoft only visits selected universities and colleges, if I apply individually I need to get a certificate signed by the training and placement officer of my college which is like a recommendation and he won't ever consider signing it. What should I do sir ?

Hi, do you naturally find it's fun to discover the code syntaxes and working around bugs? To me those are the most discourage things when I learn how to code (it took me days to learn a simple syntax and may forget afterwards), not to mention it takes a lot more than the basic syntaxes like loop, conditional, regex, methods... to build a proper working software. When review other people's code I usually overwhelmed with a ton of strange syntaxes that are not mentioned in programming books, that's really stressful to me :(

Some harsh truths: 1. If you don't like math then you're half fucked 2. if you're studying in a university where the recruiters won't come for a job fair or maybe intern recruitment program then it's pretty hard to get these kind of internships.

How to get an internship at MS, Google, Uber and the like? Basically, ask yourself what do you do for fun or hobbies? As this would lead you to a path of opportunities or regrets.
