In a nation that's majority medium to dark skinned people, it's genuinely concerning how many people are still perpetuating colorism, I'm so sorry about what you went through. These days when anyone, especially aunties, makes one of those comments, I actually get embarrassed on their behalf about how much their minds are held hostage by the remnants of colonialism (and I tell them just that so they realize how dumb they sound). But I think part of it has to do with media representation as well, not only in movies but social media, so i'm really glad they are creators like you for the current and forthcoming generations to look upto 🤎🤎
