How I got Hertz President's Circle, and is it any good?

I got Presidents Circle completely free from my Capital One Venture X card. I almost never rent cars but when I do this will be nice.

FYI. Even with Presidents circle and free insurance its not worth renting car at Hertz. For example: Cheapest Hertz car is around 130$ ( in high season) - compare to Turo is 35$ with all fees and insurance it will cost you about 60$. With smaller auto rental companies will be around 60-80$. So technically all President benefits is just a Marketing BS.

You have to book an intermediate car or higher, and based on availability per the terms

Just a quick question,I don't rent cars very often, maybe 3-4 times. I just got the Prez Circle thru my Amex card. For Prez Circle, the keys are already in the car? Or do I have to pick a car and go back to ask for the keys at the counter?

Depends on the airport, but usually the keys are in the car, regardless of your status

I just got my Venture X card & they upgraded me to President circle. Ironically I’m flying into phx next month. So if you can choose any car. Why would I pre pay for a higher end.. whats the best plan for upgrade?

Not when I was there, it was a while ago, but I think they maybe had some Mercedes and maybe a jaguar. Can't remember

I have presidents circle through my venture X card. Today I booked a large premium sedan. Should I just have paid for something cheaper then upgraded. How does that work? Im traveling to phoenix. Thanks.

If the reservation is linked to your account with status, they just let you pick whatever car you want. Phoenix has been the most successful for upgrades for me so far. But several cards give presidents circle now, so it's becoming watered down

@@andydo276 anything midsize or above. On their website they will show the rates that are not eligible for PC upgrade. Sometimes the SUVs or electric cars are cheaper than their midsize, so just pick the cheapest one.

I rent alot..so I just joined Hertz gold..and i definitely want the Ultimate Choice or President's circle to have more options on variety of vehicles....

It's not always useful, but an upgrade once in a while is always a nice treat

I’m trying to see if I have my info correct…. You booked a premium sedan, but when you got there you were eligible to select any vehicle you wanted? Like, could you have taken that pick up truck if you wanted to?

I believe I booked a standard on that one, but yes, I was able to take whichever vehicle I wanted at this location.

Why book a higher class for more money when you could pick a lower class and still pick any car you want? Just making sure I didn’t miss something. @@tylerslilt83, from what i've read, a one-class upgrade is guarenteed. I don't think the managers specials are included. But in my experience, it is very location and availability dependant. On this particular trip, I was in Phoenix during the summer in the middle of the week. But I would absolutly book a lower class than what i wanted unless I needed something specific like a minivan or truck

Be sure to keep all your profile infomation up to date in your gold profile.Otherwise you'll end up in line somewhere. As for gold members at none airport locations the agent will preprint your contract.
