My daughter was considering applying to UW. Her academic background is surprisingly similar to yours. If you don't mind my asking, did UW give you financial aid? Out of state tuition is pretty steep!

Any advice of what scholarships to apply for? Specifically merit/leadership based (I have a 3.9 GPA, a 32 ACT and a lot of club and voluteer leadership). If you know of any departmental scholarships for school of the environment that would be great too

Yeah the out of state tuition definitely sucks. But there are definitely a lot of resources out there, be it financial aid or scholarships that can help make that final price tag a little less scary!

Hmm there should be a Facebook group. If you type “university of Washington class of 2025” into the Facebook search bar there’s a chat that comes up. I did random rooming and it worked pretty well for me so that’s always an option too!

I went to a hospital in IL called Vista, but if you're looking for shadowing/clinical stuff in Seattle, then there's a really great program called COPE Health Scholars at Swedish Med Center that I'm also doing
