Such a good and relatable story, bought a 1968 Mustang about 4 years ago for a project car and I’ve been restomod converting it as I get the money, the only problem is that I’ve made it too nice and I’m still in high school where I have to parallel park or park way far from the building to not risk getting door dings. Its by far the greatest first car I could ever imagine and I still drive it everyday, but there was just a nice feeling when I was driving it dented and oxidized with a old blown head gasket 289 where I could just drive it however or park wherever.

Love these car stories, and only wish my Grandfather was in the shape to come tell the story of his 57 Bel Air. Since he can't, here it is: My Grandfather has always been a massive fan of the big winged cars of the 50's, so he bought in '86 a beautiful red 57 Chevy Bel Air, all numbers matching with a whopping 2,500 miles on it for $12,000. Immaculate condition, you couldn't find a bad thing about it. Super Sport with the 245bhp V8 and A/C factory. Loved that car for over 24 years. Around 2010, my Grandmother got cancer, and the treatments were expensive. I'm sure you can guess how he paid for them. Sold the Bel Air for $64,000, which cover the co-pays and then some. Fast forward to 2013, and to continue to supplement his pension, he started buying cheap foreclosed properties and renting them out to good people at decent rates to lower local issues and bring up curb value in his neighborhood. My Grandfather lives in Geary, Indiana, and anybody who knows anything knows what that entails. The extra scratch was nice too. There was a house at the edge of the neighborhood that was owned by an old man, kept to himself mostly, and he had passed. When my Grandfather saw the people from the bank, he went over to talk, as he usually does. Asked the men what was owed, explained he was a realtor. Bought the house from the bank, sight unseen for $3,300. Weeks go buy, and he has a crew come in for repairs and such. Opens the garage in the back, and inside was a black 2 door convertible 56 Chevy Bel Air, all numbers matching. She was a bit rough, and needed some love. He nearly broke down in tears he was so ecstatic, he had finally gotten back his dream car after all those years. I remember helping him with everything I could on my trips to see him. He looked me in the eyes and spoke, and I'll never forget these words, "When the inevitable comes and God calls me home, I'll always be riding shotgun with you, so play some good music for me. This car's going home with you." He placed that spare key in my hand, and it has been around my neck since. I pray that day doesn't come soon, but I may be making that trip one last time real soon.

I did this with a Z06, I wanted a driver, not a polisher. It's been a blast driving and not worrying about miles or value.

The perfect color for the LP640. That's been my favorite car since Clarkson first drove it on Top Gear!

I love the Verde Draco color that press car was. Unfortunately there are none in the US.

I was saying yours is the perfect color. The Verde Draco was excellent too. Was yours Grigio Avlon?

Mine is Grigio Telesto. I am really happy with it but it is tough to keep clean.

Yes. I live in Johns Creek and our office is near Spaghetti Junction so I usually drive up and down PIB.

It is awesome that you could daily the car. Add a few random bumper stickers to rub it in to the trailer queens. I tour with a super rare Les Paul guitar (year / edition) that normally sits in a lawyer's office. It has mods and stickers on it that make collectors yell at me. They shut up when I tell them I paid $400 for it before speculation went wild.

I am about sure this is the only place where you'll see a snake i!n a murcielago. Once again a great story!

That is the best story I've heard you tell yet. I'd also love to have the worst example of my dream car as well. Why have a car if you can't enjoy driving it

To the “Gone In 60 Seconds” ref, it was Giovanni Ribisi’s character(his brother in the movie) that gives Nicholas Cage the car. Then he, and Angelina Jolie go for a ride in said car. Just saying... Great stories! Nice work, I could watch them all day!!!

awesome vid, it wasnt angelina (sway) to give him the shelby though at the end, it was his brother kip lol I only know because it was on hbo last night

Man, you are right. Sorry about that. Perhaps I was inserting my own fantasy of being given a dream car by my wife.
@TMogo1167 жыл бұрын

I also read that the one at the end, though tough on the outside, was the best motor and that they worked on it to make it run rough.

Coming from someone that's not a huge Lamborghini fan, that grey one is a beautiful spec!
