I remember the first time I tried out for a basketball team in the 8th grade, played pretty well, but got cut. I asked the coach what I could work on and he basically said it was because I had no left hand dribble and as a shooting guard it was pretty important. I spent that whole next summer and Fall dibbling with only my left had. I would dribble around the block, through my house, to the bus stop, all left handed. It ended up becoming my dominant dribbling hand and I was able to make the team for my next 4 years of school. Goes to show that if you put in the work, you can achieve your goals.

You spoke the truth Devin. I made basketball my lifestyle then quit after I have given it so much and not seen anything in return. But sure enough, I picked the ball back up after 3 years hiatus. Fast forward to now, I get paid to go to watch NBA and coach kids to be better people. Thank you for sharing.

Dev , thank you for this video. I just hit 30 last Wednesday and I remember your video when you hit the sand dunes on 10000 hours many years ago. I’ve always loved your storytelling and cinematic feels to your videos . Even though I came to this video because I feel like I’m losing my game a bit , I came out with a lesson in life about making whatever I do part of my daily routine and remaining consistent if I want to see results . Thank you and much love

I just wanted to say thank you for this video . Everyone who needs/wants to be a good ball handler this video will help them out a lot. I did basically what you did when I was younger but I used a tennis ball instead of a basketball and within 9 hours I learn how to dribble with my right hand and it changed my game to the max but nowadays it's all about social media and no one cares about what people have to say but you making this video will open up a lot of people's eyes and they'll actually learn how to be a good player so thanks again I really appreciate you

I was never a dribbler, I could shoot and play defense and only played in the streets. In my late 30s I decided to give it try and now I have decently tight handles (that are really effective because it’s unexpected by just looking at me). Part of the key is what he mentioned here, whenever I was in a space we’re I could dribble I would be dribbling. I also used this channel with a couple others for ideas and routines. I adjusted them to fit my old bones because most of what I saw was for kids taking it seriously. Great over all messages in this video and flow and edits were on point too

man this is so relatable bro great video I didn't start getting into basketball until I want to say my freshman year of high school! And even then I didn't play for the team out of fear due to me being so short and also being very shy and worried about what everyone else thought. Like you said though in the video you dribbled around in your house I did the same thing copied moves from my favorite player Kyrie Irving and also used to try and copy moves from 2k id do with my myplayer. I would be dribbling for hours self teaching myself how to do these moves. My handles aren't as great as yours though id have to keep on practicing on how to do it in game and how I can make them more effective. great video man seriously!

I’m definitely coppin this ball. Another way I got my handles up was dribbling with thick winter gloves on. Dribble for like 20 min increments, take them off & it’s crazy how much better you can control the ball.

Dev idk anyone who would fall for your crossover I’ve analyzed it over the years and you learned how to manipulate the defender on a hall of fame nba player in that aspect because your footwork is world class to sell all your moves especially your AI I would watch the foot work of you putting your foot outside of their to sell drive and they bite and you’re already shooting the ball because as a defender you have to respect someone with your level of quickness that you still retain even in your older age
