thanks for watching ✨ Being one month ahead means you have a months worth of expenses saved up. Personally I'll be using this fund to pay my rent and expenses in advance, to help me prioritize saving my paycheques and hopefully spending less. Have you ever thought about getting one month ahead? Let me know in the comments 💖

Ok I've never thought about getting one month ahead, so smart! Definitely going to do that! I of course have an emergency fund with 3-6 months of expenses which I don't touch but now I'm gonna totally try this!!!

came across your videos a few weeks ago and love them 🙌🏻 i’m from australia and just secured a grad job at a Big4 starting next year. i’ll be moving to a different state for the job so needed to get on top of my money asap and have found your videos super helpful. i also ended up opening multiple savings accounts for specific things (i.e future rent, emergency, moving money, etc) and i already feel in control. my bank also has a cool feature where whatever i spend the value is rounded up to the nearest dollar and automatically transferred into a nominated savings account. while this isn’t a lot, it’s always the small things that count 👏🏻👏🏻 and of course congrats on the one month ahead account, i’m definitely going to use this idea when i eventually move 🥳💪🏼

This is amazing! Congrats on the new job, that is so exciting!! 🎉 The round up feature is genius, I wish we had that. Over time that would be so much money!!

Hi! This was such a helpful video to watch! I’m interested in that wealthsimple account you use for your emergency fund but I can’t seem to find it 😭 do you know the exact name of it? Thank you!!!

on my app the options are either “invest” or “save” and it’s the save account :) they just actually reduced the interest rate to .5%

Hey Zoe, I'm assuming you have other sources of income if your rent is so expensive compared to your wage? You live in Montreal so I'm sure you could look for something cheaper if you wanted to save. If you had some money saved up I would suggest buying a small apartment (if you pay 20% down, the interest + condo charges + taxes would probably be less than what you are paying in rent).

My income is as I said + earnings from KZbin. My rent is quite expensive but I love where I live and don’t want to move or buy a place right now.

@@ZoePritchard It is so so important to be in a place you love especially if you are working from home. I made the shift during covid from a place that was not good for my mental health to one I LOVE working from and living in. It is way more expensive then my other place but sometimes saving money at the risk of your health (mental or physical) is just not worth it. I learnt this the hard way invest in your mental and physical health always!

@@ZoePritchard yeah I agree, definitely you need to love your home, particularly when we are spending so much time! But maybe a future goal could be moving from renting to owning :)
