I wanna do this song as much justice as possible. Over the past 2 days as Taylor has been gone this song has become even more meaningful. We have lost a legend who enlightened all our lives. Rest in peace Taylor, your legacy will carry on.

last week was the first time that i have been able to listen to FF since it happened without completely losing my shit. still not over it, probably never will be, but i’ll try my best to carry on his musical legacy - even if i’m just a bang-average bedroom guitarist

Buy the Fender Mustang LT25 or 50 and download the Fender tone up, connect it to the amp and make the tone from the amp and download it to the amp then just select the preset from the mini screen build in the Amp

At 4:55 I breathed in super deep bc I thought that les Paul jr was going to fall on it’s side bc I didn’t notice the damn shelf next to it. I was so relieved when it stopped moving 😂

Thanks! Interesting how it's mostly the double tracking and the blend of those two guitars. Sounds like the Les Paul fits especially well for this track.

The tone was - Les Paul through a 1995 mesa dual rectifier run on the clean channel with the gain cranked. The gain channel not used. It’s that simple. That is the main tone for the entire record.

Cool sound, pretty damn close with only a few boxes! Here's how the Foos did it using different guitars on each stereo channel and another in the middle, then two more guitars doing overlays (diamonds, etc.). You couldn't do this song in less than five guitar tracks, and you might need more for some of riff crossovers, but it took me ten tracks in my attempt to replicate the sound, but part of that was because I didn't have the exact rig. Dave was on the left channel playing a Gibson RD Standard, through a blonde Fender Tone Master, out to a 4x12 Boogie cab, mic'd with both a Nuemann U87 and a Shure SM57 butted up together in and out of phase, while Pat on the right channel playing a Hagstrom with Kurt Cobain's live setup of a pre-amp into a Crown 1000-watt power amp out to a Marshall cabinet. Then an Astatic JT40 mic was used for the distorted overlay guitars. Here's as close as I could get ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIuznqyLrtt0b5o
