Such a great video. Everything about it is made so well. Huge congratulations! Also I should mention, even though I had personally never seen someone play like this, there are a couple players who have similar playstyles in some old trackmania games. Games that I had never played and hadn't seen before. Even though I am a higher level player than a lot of others, there is still so much I don't know about the game, including the history. To more experienced players, there is no suspicion. While the inputs are a bit unusual, they aren't quite fast enough to be questioned with regards to slow motion play. I think the another large factor for questioning the validity of the record was the low play time and recent starting time. Which just makes this even MORE impressive! Massive accomplishment and I can't wait to see what you do/create next!

In my opinion, questioning a legit player is one of the greatest compliments you can give. Exactly as you said, makes this even more impressive

Being a newer player on controller on PS5, I see myself trying to steer in a similar way for some full speed or even fast tight turns, just slapping the stick and letting it slap back to a neutral state similar to keyboard for some precise fullspeed can help so I dont turn to much /oversteer and lose speed. With the snow car I tend to turn more smoothly but with the stadium car on wood ive done what you do as well to avoid turning to tightly and hitting the wall, glad to see some hand cam gameplay of controller players as it helps me make more sense of how players obtain good times on controller and the various methods that work for different players. Awesome video bro!

Amazing Video! Definitetly never expected this type of video but I almost feel honored to be a part of it xD The fact that you're pretty new to the game makes this rather impressive to me. Before I got the record there was a wood acceleration update which basically reset all the wood records that start on wood surface. I only managed to get 7th before the update iirc, it was pretty hunted! After the update dropped I hunted it for a few hours and got it, it hurts that the one with a rather poopy start was "the record" but it was enough! A sub 22 was deemed to happen, and I'm glad to see someone did it so nobody else had to wasted their time doing so hahah. Congratulations on your achievement and record, perhaps I will come back to this map soon x)

The funny thing is, before you even mentioned anything suspicious, I thought you were a keyboard player based off the movements 😂
@alibi32410 ай бұрын
When I started out in Trackmaina, I also used quite quick and sharp movements of the analog stick just because I felt I have more control over the car. Over time, I did start getting more comfterble with smooth steering and overall, ive started to get better times. I think it is just a natural thing for newer people to have more snappy and sharp movements. Congrats of the WR, thats really cool. Ive never even gotten close to a WR of a map that has been played by more than 20 people, let along an official campaign track. Its really cool to see new players do well and gives me more motivation to keep going. GL with your TM experience and thanks for the great vid!

@sFxEquinox11510 ай бұрын
Used to be a relatively strong TM fullspeed player myself. I did the same thing - using “taps” on the controller stick instead of using smooth inputs. Some of this probably has to do with the fact I converted from KB to controller before leaving the game, as tapping is literally the only way to maintain speed slides on keyboard. Many other trackmania fullspeed players do the exact same thing. Not sure why people thought your inputs were suspicious…. They are clearly very different from the inputs observed in Riolu’s slowmo runs for example. -BlarryTM

Dude, I’ve been playing off and on for years and racked up around 200 hours, this kind of precision without smooth steering is wild. Congrats! I myself have a very similar story about a map that was previously maxed out to the tenth, and I discovered a trick to save time, eventually gaining over 2 tenths on the previous WR.

I wasn't suspicious at all on the beginning of the video, bc various tm players that play on keyboard also have inputs that look like that on maps that have wood blocks (since on wood u gotta be smooth and have quick reflex, people usually flick a lot and between aks as well), but i was completely weirded out when i saw u doing that on controller, that's pretty cool.
