If it helps, I learned from another channel that sprinkling cinnamon on the seeds in the paper towel influences germination, and will help prevent it from molding up. Also, apparently dragon fruit have the best chance of growing from soil. That's just what I heard though.

This was such a fun experiment! I'm always doing "experiments" trying to see if this will seed or that will propagate from a cutting etc. I love that you tried multiple ways for better options! I work in a garden center/nursery and I can tell you a few things you did wrong though. First of all, this type of kiwi is not hardy in your zone. Regardless of where in Canada you live, it's not the proper zone to grow green kiwi outdoors. HOWEVER there is a hardy kiwi (I believe developed by the university of Michigan) that is hardy in zones 4-9 (which is still possibly too cold depending on where you are.) These hardy kiwi do not have the fuzz like the ones you get at the store or in your Starbucks drinks but they can tolerate colder growing conditions. Secondly, most kiwi will need a pollinating partner. (For the hardy kiwi 1 male plant can pollinate around 5 female plants.) If it is a female plant, it will flower, but it will not produce fruit without a pollination partner. There are some that are self-pollinating, but most fruit trees do need to be planted with at least one other that has the same bloom times. Hope this helps!

Glad I stumbled across your content; I started planting seeds from all my produce from the grocery store and now I don’t have to buy half the veggies I used to, and I have a dozen fruit plants all growing strong. Excited for my little dragon fruit cactuses to become huge trees

I feel your pain...The squirrels were unfamiliar with the Kiwi plant and must have found it to be particularly aromatic 😹

Kiwis (most verities of not all) grow male OR female plants. So you need at least two, a male and a female if you ever want fruit

Tip:dont put too many plants in 1 pot they might grow but stop growing since theres no space for it to sprout it weed sooo they will stop growing cuz theres to many plants taking the space

Hi Jessie, just came across your page and it's cute & very informative! I did want to give you a little hack that can help with your squirrel problem....Go to any hardware store and get chicken wire. Wrap it around your babies with enough space in between and voila.... No more squirrel problems! 🚫🐿🚫 I've done this everytime and it always works 👍👌 Happy Growing 🌱🪴🫛🥕🫒🍅

I was trying to grow watermelons this year, and my 4 year old son tried to help me by picking them. That was devastating for a couple days.

This is so interesting! I've always wondered if you could grow the dragon fruit seeds from the drink. What variety of dragon fruit do you think it'll turn out to be?

you could determent by the color of the fruit u got it was
@justadude5893
@justadude5893 4 ай бұрын
@@durifi2255 The color doesn’t exactly determine the variety. It could just be a generic red dragon fruit but it could also be a dark star or American beauty for the visual appeal of the fruit.

@@justadude5893 then you could just ask the starbucks workers what the peel was, you cant really determine the variety

Bruh. I swear every single time you grow something, it gets eaten by squirrels before we get to see it fruit. 🙄
