DEFINITELY. I never tolerated too many folks wanting to put their hands in my hair. The only one besides yself was my then hairdresser. Since I've gone natural (which has been for years)..I take care of my own hair. I'm not even cool with my relatives doing that. I've always been that way.

Thank you (from Los Angeles) I really enjoyed your tips. I'm in the transitional phase with my hair. Struggling for natural hair styles in this phase, cause I had my sister actually cut damaged/old relaxed hair off. Been in weaves and broads since Aug 2016. So yeah hair is still coming to terms with not being braided. Your video helped me to better understand what I should do and will continue to do. Thank you!

Shon9tilR You can find so many on KZbin and natural hair blogs. The most common protective styles are crochet hair, weaves, sew-ins, wigs and many different types of braids. There is a wide variety to protective styling so you can just find what works for you. Hope this helped 💞

Shea butter (mixed with a bit of coconut oil) works wonders for my hair. The moisture lasts for days; I only need to apply it 2-3 times a week. It's easier to apply when blended well, almost to a cream.

Hi Raven! I was inspired by your video to encourage me to grow my natural type 4 hair. As it stands now I believe it's 2 inches at the back and 3 (and a half) inches at the front (maybe 1 inch at the temple areas) since I had a trimming 'mistake' 2 weeks ago at the barbers a day after taking my cornrows out which were rather tight since I had them done on the 5th of June (left them in for 3 weeks before taking them out) and I did indeed see growth but because the cornrows at the ends were very tight I ended up pulling off chunks of my hair which damaged the scalp and my scalp throughout the next few days was VERY irritated with some burning feeling. What I mean by "trimming mistake" is that the barber trimming my hair asked if I want more trimming done and I said yes. Afterwards I felt ashamed because the barber cut off more length without even telling him to stop (because I wanted my split ends which were frizzy and looked thin to be cut off too). What I'm doing right now on a weekly/nightly basis is apply the protein hair fertilizer in my hair and scalp 3 times a day and the Wild Growth hair oil 2 times a day (Monday, Wednesday and Friday = hair fertilizer (tube not the ORS brand) Tuesday and Thursday = Wild Growth hair oil) and at weekends mainly Saturday I wash my hair with shampoo/conditioner or use my Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore Treatmemt Masque. I also moisturise my hair and scalp with a moisture oil or cream (for me thats HaiREpair Intence Moisture Cream). I know its gonna take 3 or 5 months to grow the afro I wanted but this is what I do. If you have any hair tips or suggestions please let me know! (sorry I dont have a photo of myself or any videos uploaded as my channel is ONLY for watching videos and posting comments)

I'll make a note to purchase the Shea Moisture products soon too. I'm glad I found you today. Thank you for sharing and stay blessed 👍🏾🙏🏾😊✌🏾🌹

Just watched your video - so glad I saw it. Simple and not too time consuming - not everyone wants to spend several hours on their hair every week. Recently my hair has become thin and dry so have started to moisturise, moisturise and moisturise to see if this will help. Have been wigging it since Christmas but don’t feel that the ends were being moisturised properly as cane row was under the wig. Thanks for your tips and defo subscribed. Ps wish I was brave enough to chop but scared it won’t grow back!😩

Love this video. I went natural for the second time 2 years ago and this time I tried to do more protective styling. I found that the whole "product junkie" thing wasn't working out for me so I did a cleanup. Now I use shea butter, argan oil shampoo & conditioner (and sometimes Herbal Essences) and an intensive mask from Boots ( it's really hard to get natural hair products here). I think using too many different products does not promote hair growth, find those that work and stick to them. Great editing and tips!

That's what I've been doing for months, twist or braid and wear my wig, which was ok but I was so ready to let hair breathe. Only problem now, she's stressed when it's not braided or covered. Constant combing and heat is too much but I know it needs to be out a bit. I am being vigilant and moisturizing and sealing 1-2x a day. Seems to be ok at moment

You look lovely au naturel. Love your video, very informative. Shame you can't just leave your hair loose as it is - some people can get away with it, others can't! Please let me know if you have high or low porosity hair. This helps me to know if the products you like to use would suit me. I love Shea Moisture products too. They have a great range for all types of hair. My hair is high porosity and gets very dry, very quickly. Learning how to lock in moisture has made a HUGE difference.

loved your video. I am like you in that i cut my hair when I break up, get a new job, or just need a change. I am addicted to the creamy crack so I don't stay natural for long. I am usually natural for about a year before the creamy crack starts calling me. I think I keep going back because i do not know what to do with my hair at the in between stage. Then there is years of " you need to have straight hair for work" mantra on automatic in my head. Anyways thank you for your video, i enjoyed it.
