OMG! MY MOTHER WILL LOVE YOU FOR ADMITTING TO USING MAYONNAISE! SHE USED TO MAKE IT FROM SCRATCH AND USE IT ON MY SIBLINGS AND MY HAIR. She used to say, "Hair length has to do with what one consumes. If one eats healthy, drinks lots of water, massages the scalp, and exercises, the hair follicles, and hair strands will be healthy and strong, thus, the hair will grow long without breaking." However, what one puts on one's hair is contingent upon the texture of one's hair and whether or not the scalp can take it. I make my own hair and skin products because I cannot use grease. I wash my hair every two to three days in the week, do oil and scalp treatments two days a week, and let the shower run on it with conditioner the other remaining days. I have to wet my hair every day because my hair is much more manageable wet. I do take a multivitamin just because I have all of my life and I will never stop.

Not all the alcohols are bad for your hair. There are fatty alcohols which is good for your hair such as cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, lauryl. The ones to avoid are isopropyl, alcohol denat. Sd alcohol etc. Those ones dry the heck out your hair. Thanks for sharing your hair routine with us 😊

Why do naturals do this. "I've been natural for a year now". What they normally don't say : ( transitioning for a year and a half before that so the hair you see on my head is two and a half worth of growth). Thank you for saying how long it really was.

Everyone’s hair and scalp is different, so saying stay away from sulfates is not correct. I had major scalp buildup from co washing and using sulfate free shampoos. Now my hair is in a much healthier state since using a sulfate shampoo on a weekly basis. Some people can get away without using sulfates and some people can’t.

You clearly are the exception but in general most black hair should not use sulphates just like she said. Saying she’s incorrect is not true. She is speaking in general and what works for her. These are her tips. She constantly says everyone’s hair is different so why make it about you. But thank you for sharing anyway.

I pretty much also want to try only getting my hair trimmed just twice a year (every 6 months). How much do you get trimmed off?
@TheTiaraMakia
@TheTiaraMakia 6 жыл бұрын
Just however much is needed. For instance if it starts looking super thin towards the bottom for an inch then I'll get an inch trimmed off.
@pfair774
@pfair774 6 жыл бұрын
TheTiaraMakia Oh ok I see! Yea I was thinking just a half inch per visit but maybe I can probably take an inch at the most of to get them more evened if needed. Thanks! I always get stylists trying to take off more but I don't think it's necessary lol

I had hair that was just below my armpit but then I started dying my hair and got a perm I just cut it to my shoulders. Waiting for it to grow and cut the transitioning hair off slowly. Do u think that would work or should I cut it all off

Good tips. Do you think going to a beautician every two weeks is too much for my hair? And I also suffer from dry scalp, but products like Wild Hair Growth, Amla oil and Jamaican Castor oil really irritate my scalp. Do you have any suggestions for what I should use?
@TheTiaraMakia
@TheTiaraMakia 6 жыл бұрын
Depends on what all your beautician is doing to your hair. It has never been necessary for me to go to one very ofter, but I know many people who do. I suffer from dry scalp also but I usually just stick to JBC. Pure coconut oil too. But my scalp still gets very dry so I have not mastered that one yet. I've used avocado oil before but it didnt work well for me. Maybe it could work for you!

If I do a wash n go I usually wash my hair in the morning and let it air dry throughout the day. I only let it dry over night if I do a twist or braid out or something that has to set. And I hardly use a dryer!
