I just did a big chop and I’m on a natural journey! I’ve been a hairstylist for 20+ years and I’m learning that all of that stuff isn’t for us. Quickweaves, ponytails, braids, press and curls, relaxers and more. I was very good at what I did but one thing I am not good at is managing my natural hair. What a discredit to who I really am. So my journey has begun and I just may be taking my beauty business in a completely natural direction. All glory to the Most High and thanks be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ❤️ Thanks for this video! I’m all for the two strand twist! #newsubscriber

Starting a natural hair salon that can actually care for and grow out type for hair will be an amazing achievement. You should really think about it. Plus a lot of people will become your new clients. I want to believe that most type 4 women would like to grow their hair long. They just don't believe it's possible for them. Or they're worried about the amount of work and effort that goes into it. A lot of people would rather leave it to they're hair stylist.

Thank you Gloria💖 this is something I've been thinking about for awhile. I may just take that jump and get my cosmetology license and open my natural hair salon. I truly appreciate comments like this that speaks life into me.

Glory to Jesus. A year later, your comment is confirmation to my journey. I’m also a cosmetologist who never properly cared for my hair. God put me on this journey of not wearing weave and taking care of my skin… embracing what He gave me. I had to be obedient after realizing I needed to take care of myself before I care for anyone else’s. I’m on maternity leave and won’t be doing anyone’s hair or makeup but my own.

Wearing my hair in twists is my favorite...I wear my hair in twists so much people tend to ask or even assume my hair is "locd"...I actually went on a loc journey September 2020 and I combed it out last month(April2022), I started my locs with really short hair, like barely a twa and now my hair touches my shoulders...right now I'm wearing my hair in twists, and that's how I intend to rock my hair always. I hate to stress over hair. 😃

I totally agree about learning to properly care & maintain our natural hair for ourselves. I remember a friend telling me she noticed how gentle I was with my hair. She said I knew how to pamper my hair. She always wanted me to take care of her hair. I’ve also noticed that we have put a lot of trust in hair stylist/braiders. Only to find out that some of them lack the knowledge about natural hair care. I’m so grateful that I have two daughters because now I know so much about our hair. Great content. Thanks!

I cover my head either with my bonnet when I do not feel like making an African Head Tie Style that covers my entire hair. @@GlowupwithPaige LOL. I HAD TO DO IT OVER AGAIN TODAY BECAUSE I DID A WASH AND GO YESTERDAY AND USED GEL. I LOOK AT THAT WASH AND GO AND SAID, "IM DONE" SO I TWISTED IT, AND IT FLAKED ON ME BECAUSE OF THE GEL. SO I DID IT AGAIN, AND THIS TIME I USED GREASE AND MY TWISTING BUTTER, AND SO FAR, IT'S NOT BAD AT ALL. IM COMING OUT OF A VERY SHORT CUT, SO THE BACK HARD TO TWIST.

I wash usually twice a week, but at the least once a week.. I wear only wash and go's, so my hair routine is super simple.. About 1.5hr start to finish including my time under the dryer.. I just recently had to big chop after 7yrs of "protective styling".. Because my hair was so damaged and dry from said styling.. I went to a kinky curly stylist for my chop so that I'd have the right shape for my fresh start.. I'm only about 2months since my chop, and can already see so much growth.. My hair just always grown pretty fast, but now with watering it so often.. I seems to be growing at the fastest I've ever seen, or noticed.. I love these tips, and being we do all were our hair in so many different ways, and set different expectations.. It only makes sense we would all do different regimens for what works best for our hair and lifestyles.. Happy to be a new sub...

Hey Chiquita I'm so glad to hear how your hair is thriving since your big chop. I always like to think of our natural hair as a plant🌴, the more we water it 💦the more it will stay moisturized and grow. Dry hair breaks. Thank you so much for being apart of the fam. We are more than happy to have you here ☺💖

Hi sister sister, My hair is natural now problem 1. One side longer than the other side. Due COVID-19 I will not go hairdressers for my hair. I listen to you, and what you say makes sense. I will moisture my hair more often, and try to wash 1x every week. My hair is like a coil, very wavy a mixture of two kinds of hair. Oh I’m Loving your hair, you working it girl.

Thanks for this marvelous video☺️✨✨You mentioned two very important points which touched my heart. Don’t misunderstood me all of your points are very important. But those two which touched me was first never do you hair if your stressed out or don’t have time. Secondly do not let everyone does your hair bc of their energy -> That’s why I will watch out who I will let on my head and try to do my hair on my own🙏🏾💯🌸

My story: I'd been back and forth between relaxed and natural for years. One day I finally decided to do the big chop. I'm about 9 months natural and have been moisturizing on the regular, I've been mainly keeping it braided and in twists. When I'm letting it rest, I''' put a wig on it. I try not to manipulate it too much. I have box braids in now. I'm pushing it with 3 months, but I'm going out of town for the weekend so I plan on taking them down when I get back home and doing a length check. I also have been documenting my journey and taking pictures. I've never done that before so I'm super excited to check out the progress.

Aww thank you so much for your comment and you are too funny about twisting your hair that made me laugh🤣. I tell people the more you understand your hair the easier it would be to take care of it.
