Some paint has some bad chemicals. If you plan on eating the plants or fruit I would not use any cans that had paint in them. The plants can take in the chemicals into their roots and to the fruit.

To grow kale you're gonna need: Plastic, plastic, plastic, plastic, polystyrene, paint, spray paint. When you were spraying paint right next to the lettuce I couldnt believe it!

The ideas are really nice. And even though.... I can't understand why you're using so much plastic... You can see pieces of plastic laying around, probably as a result of it breaking into smaller pieces... I mean... In one hand it's nice that you can reuse it... But putting plastic in your own garden.... :-S
