The only problem for me is to maintain the same pressure on the break pedale while touching the gas with the left part of your shoe , i suddenly break to hard at that moment because i try to reach for the gas pedal by going a bit more in with my shoe and cant get the balance then xD

I tried it with my mk6 jetta but i’ll try the way you are doing. I was trying to hold the brakes with the foot, and blip the throttle with the heel like in my good ol’ subaru!

Cheers for delivering man! I hate the ramp style throttle pedals in these cars, traditional pedals are so much better imo. Gonna try this!

Leoxn I really like the floor mounted gas pedal!
@angelramos47886 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hate it too takes away extra foot space, sometimes I'll wonder why my car feels slow then notice my foots toward the bottom of the huge pedal so even though I'm pushing with my foot it's not going anywhere. I know that's my fault but that wouldn't happen with a regular pedal lol

👍🏻👍🏻 I watched your great instruction video a few times! Want to use the side of my foot for revving the gas pedal while using the ball of my right foot to apply pressure on braking. It seems to me that's more difficult. I would like to achieve this technique. For now, I could use the ball of my foot for braking while blipping the gas pedal with my heel. It works! but I am going to try the side of my foot method which I preferred. Cheers 🦅🦅🇺🇸

well in winter,especialy if theres snow,you kinda have to brake with gears on so your dont slide by not just using the brake,but in summer,spring,I ussaly brake for example to the stop sign in free gear and just with breaks and to traffic lights,but gas pedal is deeper than the brakes,so i wouldt beable to do it

@DANIEL33517 жыл бұрын
THANKS!!! damn, I know it was VERY EASY to to what this guy did but I always took it so literally, and if you have a VW you can sympathize with me that the brake pedal is waaaay to infront from the gas pedal making this "heel and toe" technique somewhat impossible, never thought I could've done it like this LOL, thank brooo

Hey bro, just a question about hill and toe shifting in 2 of 3 speeds whether to keep the clutch lower or higher or depends on 3 speeds how much it moves because at lower revs you need to keep the clutch lower and shorter

you didn't respond me in the last video so I'll ask you again: With all your mods on this wonderful car. What is your 0-60 mph and quarter mile? I am just curious. I want to buy a mk5 gti as my first car and modify it similarly to yours. I want to know what to expect.
@IgnitionTube7 жыл бұрын
Arthur Negosanu they are irrelevant. If you want a straight line car don't buy a GTI
@adrianhazzard66657 жыл бұрын
Arthur Negosanu what Eli said. If you're looking for 0-60, which is pointless, as in gear acceleration is far more important, then don't get a GTI. Go for an Evo/Scooby. If you get a GTI, get an edition 30 with the KO4 turbo. Suspension, tyres, brakes, remap.

I have an 8P Audi A3 (which is mechanically identical to the Mk5 GTI, same pedals as well) and I have some trouble with heel-toeing in regular driving situations. In our cars, the gas pedal sits deeper in the pedal box than the brake, and when lightly braking, it's sometimes just too far away to reach, without slipping off the brakes. Under more aggressive braking, of course, it's fine and dandy. Is this anything you had to get around with your Mk5? I currently just rev-match for most of my driving, unless I'm on the brakes enough to heel-toe, but it would be nice to be able to heel-toe in traffic when coming to a stop light, without feeling like I'm slamming on the brakes.
@IgnitionTube7 жыл бұрын
garrisonr77 that's what I'm doing in this video my friend. It's about playing with where you position your foot! Do it in a parking lot before doing it on the road
@bignatec10006 жыл бұрын
The pedals in my car are awkwardly spaced. The brake is higher than the gas so I have to turn my foot. Even doing that, it's still hard to reach both.

Are u blipping the throttle when ure passing through neutral or when u engage the gear?
@TheRickeMovies7 жыл бұрын
Do you still double clutch? I see you do it sometimes and sometimes you just rev in the middle of the shift which isn't that great for the transmission right?
@IgnitionTube7 жыл бұрын
TheRickeMovies I never double clutch in this video, or in real life. Not necessary for modern manual transmissions.
@TheRickeMovies7 жыл бұрын
So you rev it while the clutch is down? That means your'e wearing out the clutch prematurely?
@IgnitionTube7 жыл бұрын
TheRickeMovies no, it only wears the clutch if it is partially engaged

To the RPM that is equivalent of the next gear. Example 3rd Gear 4K RPM if the difference between gears is 1K RPM the blip 1K RPM more to 5K and release the clutch.

I can neither confirm nor deny the benefits of heal-toeing, but what I can say is, I don't truly get it. I've had about 4 Manuel transmission cars and have never performed this heal-toeing and I have never-never, had any transmission or clutch problems with any of my cars, which were all different makes and models. I don't take my cars to the track either, but I will say, if it works for some people, have at it. It may provide a smoother ride, I guess, but as for all of these other mechanical problems people are speaking of, I must have been awfully damn lucky. Good video though.
