As a teacher who lived through the removal of cursive handwriting from the grammar school curriculum, I can’t tell you how happy I am to see it make a resurgence. It is a meditative practice and wonderful for kids who have dyslexia, as counterintuitive as that may seem. There are also children with something called “dysgraphia,“ which makes handwriting quite tough for them. But they, too, can hugely improve their handwriting if their teacher shows patience and humor.

I just had this idea in mind and I needed a way to relax and unwind so I thought I'd film the process. But, as I showed at the beginning, there are quicker and easier ways to go about it. *Writing neatly is a skill that comes in handy when you NEED/want to write neatly, so don't feel like your personality shouldn't come through your individual handwriting.* If you don’t have a printer, you can practice while using your phone/computer as reference. When I was a kid I loved practicing cursive. Now because of that I have really nice cursive writing. Practice really does work. After a while your hand has muscle memory and the letters and transitions can become really smooth. For everyone who is practicing, don’t give up. You’ll get where you want to be. 😃 and never forget to not compare yourself to others. You never know how much someone has practiced and what work they have put into something. Being perfect is not everything and sometimes a little bit of quirkiness makes your handwriting unique to you and makes it that much more representative of you. 🙂

Bcz we wrote all the matery for the subjects there. And myjuniors used to ask for me, where is senior ....? Then when i looked at them they would say that myhandwriting is so beautiful. I dont know how beautiful it was really. Because now myhandwriting is a great messy, keep changing in font and size, but if i write slowly, surely myhandwriting is still look good. This is a very interesting video . I liked that this person took the time to improve her writing and will be a skill that will last the rest of her life. I noticed the use of a calligraphy pen with a nib or a fountain pen. This makes one's writing very different and does take practice. I write in cursive most of the time. I was signing a paper in a store and the clerk kept staring at what I was doing. I thought I was doing something wrong. But then she said.... you have the most beautiful handwriting I've ever seen. That was quite a compliment but it wasn't necessarily true... it's just that young people in this country have not been taught how to write in cursive for almost 40 years now. My grandchildren can't even read my handwriting nor do they write in cursive. That's sad for two reasons. One, many people won't be able to read old letters, journals, and documents. It will be like a foreign language to them. And secondly, because technology won't always be there. Technology must have a power source which can go out or stop at any time. But you can always pick up a pen or pencil and write.

I remember being taught cursive and not understanding it one bit because I’m left handed. A teacher in middle school helped me learn how to sign my name by having me after school three days a week for a while because she noticed I was unable to

Those are some good ideas. I started calligraphy a few years ago, and have grown to enjoy it, but I could use some practice at making my letters more consistent. Also, your handwriting is impeccable. Well done! I can only imagine what people say when they don't expect such consistant letters.

I've been trying to improve my hand writing for many years now, but it's certainly a struggle especially as a college student. I'm constantly taking notes and writing, but due the speed at which notes need to be taken, I don't have the time to ensure my handwriting is neat which just reinforces the bad habits even more.

You really accomplished your goal, your handwriting is beautiful! Two years ago I took up writing with fountain pens and it has been a joy. Thank you for your encouragement and experience. I have noticed in my writing some of the pitfalls you mentioned, especially failing to always write slowly and focus on making the letters accurately. I have sometimes let my attention wander and caught myself slipping back into old hurried habits. Thanks for sharing your handwriting practice and skill. Best wishes from Ohio.

I wanted to change my handwritting so badly. Thank you for this!! My friend has a really really good handwritting, which is I think because she can draw portraits really good as well. Every time we compared our handwritten activities and scores with each other, I always get distracted by her handwritting. (it looks very vintage!) i really liked it so one day, i just sat down on my study table and tried to imitate it. (I did it quite easily) soon our handwritting became so similar that our classmates were confused and amazed at the same time and our teachers can hardly tell which is which. But the reason why I wanted to change it again is because, everytime my written works got attention because it looks pleasing or smth like that, it was always her who gets the credit like everyone would say "Oh it must be [*my friend's*] work" 😂
