Family support whether biological or chosen is one of the most important factors in helping a loved one with recovery journey. It offers the emotional, and moral encouragement to deal with issues related to self-esteem and self image after addiction. He is not bashing his sisters/family (matter of fact he is accepting accountability) at all rather he is saying, he wanted to have a sense of belonging after rehab and where best to go to first than your own family. For those making insensitive remarks, shame on you. Educate yourselves on addiction and hope to God it never happens to your loved ones coz no one is immune. Shame on the family. Well done Ken. I rescued a man sometime ago from Githurai, Weuh he had some serious health problems dues to alcohol na muguka. What I didn’t understand was that homelessness, addiction and drugs go hand in hand. And even if they have, they help by choice and one should not be accused of not helping cos they don’t owe us their help. It's because of the slaughterhouse in Kiamaiko. Anything illicit (immigrants/drugs/firearms) from Nothern Kenya can find its way to Nairobi through the slaughterhouse. There have been many academic and journalistic papers written on the issue. The govt intelligence agencies are aware and many of them profit off of the trade.
