Such a great video, Ava! I loved that you said "this is my channel and my opinions". I'm 36 years old, and I still have a hard time getting my mom to accept that I see the past the way I do, not the way she does 😁. It's so great to have supportive parents, but your journey is yours alone. That said, I'm sure it's an adjustment. You have such a mature way of articulating the challenges you've faced so far. Your discussion of the dysphoria with your nails is both touching and relatable. It's funny, a few years ago, my youngest daughter made a few comments about how nail polish was for girls, and my husband explained that even though he didn't wear nail polish, both boys and girls can wear whatever they like. She's only six, so sometimes when she sees a boy with pink hair or painted nails, and she'll burst out with comments like "I love your nails! Boys can wear nail polish too!" (cringey when it's an older person, but still kind of cute from a grade one student 😉).

When you talked about how you "found out" that you were trans and you said "I might be trans. Am I trans? I think I'm trans" and that you went to KZbin I was surprised. I was surprised because that's exactly what I'm doing here right now. I've always thought I was gay but now I think I might be trans. When I was like 9 or 10 I watched Gigi Gorgeous and I thought I was trans so I told my mom. I think about this moment a lot because I wonder if I thought I was trans and came out because I actually was/am or was I just confused and put an idea in my head. Anyway I just wanted to say that you're a part of my journey towards discovering myself the same way the people you watched on KZbin were a part of your journey.

Hi Ava❤️ My name is also Ava and I’m a 13 year old trans girl. I just came out when I was 12 and am so happy to here you talking about your coming out story. It’s nice to see someone else who is going through the same thing that I am with everything from coming out to starting hormone blockers(which I’m so exited to start soon!!) Its good that I have someone to relate to that also has gone through the whole “girls over here, boys over here” thing, which I had to deal with for a few years as a non-binary person. Thanks you for making this video and I hope you are happy!😀 -Ava 🏳️‍🌈

Skylor Lol Hi skylor! I think it’s really cool that your coming out to your parents! If you want to come out to them I would recommend telling your parents how you really feel. The best way to make someone understand is to tell them that this is who YOU are and the this is how you truely feel! I wish you luck, and I think your so brave!!! 🏳️‍🌈 -❤️Ava

Hi Ava! It makes me so happy to see trans people that were able to go on hormone blockers soon enough! It's interesting to see how many of the things you are going through also happened to me. I grew up in a very dangerous and transphobic place so I couldn't paint my nails/use make up and the clothes I liked - for safety reasons. But one thing I was able to keep; my long hair. I was bullied for it and my parents were very aggressive about it; but I held on to it, with all my strength - it was the safest and only way for me to at ease with myself. When I turned 18 I moved to the United States on my own, then I was able to start feeling safe which enabled me to start presenting the way I wanted. Now I am 22, on hrt for 16 months and I am doing amazing! Soon you parents will not be able to control you anymore and it will feel amazing! I am excited for your future

A sign I was trans when I was little is that I watched My little pony and shows that targeted girls and I played with dolls and wanted to wear girls clothes and have long hair and when I got older I didn't really like sports and blood and horror movies and scary pictures and on video games I always played as a girl.

Hi Ava. I just found your videos and i have watched a few, and now during this one, i felt i should write to you and say some things, based on some of things you have said here about yourself. Im a very straight male by the way.. BUT i am very understanding and educated so i deeply understand ... BUT.. Im an adult man. Im in my 30s. Years ago, there werent any " transgender " people. IT was always either someone was homosexual, or if they were a male? Then maybe just feminine, and if they were female? just masculine. But there are variations of those. and then you had also cross dressers, those who just liked to wear the clothing of the opposite gender. And you had bisexual people who werent sure which they were and thought being both at the same time was the way to go. My point is, that you were born a male. Just because you didnt feel like you were one of the other males, my words not yours, but you did say you noticed you didnt fit in with the boys basically.. NO one is " normal"! there is no " normal"! THAT IS NORMAL!!!! not being " normal" is being normal!!! There is only USUAL and UNUSUAL.. There is Family and parents ( which by the way arent "normal" either! ) culture and tradition, and society.. And those try to conform and basically condition people into thinking, feeling, doing, or being a certain way. And that is wrong. But some of that is necessary in the sense that we all need some guidelines and some structure to our lives, and society was created to do that. if we didnt have society there would all out chaos. And that just would not be good for any of us.. now being that people are not perfect, our ideas, plans, and designs arent perfect either. so there you have it. And here is what we do have at this time in this day and age. and if you know history? you can clearly see the changes and all the good things that were good, and all the bad things that were bad, and everything that has happened over time.. to this point now that we are currently living in. Ok so what is my point here? Well, i know that you are unusually intelligent! And thats great! but we are not just made up of intellect. we have emotions, and we are physical and spiritual too. That being said, we are also all created individually unique and special. All with different abilities, skills, interests, passions, instincts. that which help us figure out who we are and what we are here for.. And ofocourse we cant forget about GOD! yes God our father who gives life and creates us all himself! individually unique and special by his own hand. Which you may not accept rightnow. But again, let me get more to my point. i have listened to you give alot of thought to yourself and your feelings, and your decisions, and i dont believe you ( or anyone else ) is really a male or female mistakenly born into the opposite body! GOD just wouldnt do that. But!! That doesnt mean that some males are born with more " femminine" qualities, and some females with more " masculine " qualities. Its just their natural personalities mixed with experiences from their parents, their homes, or enviorments and or things that happen to them. What im saying here is it could just be that your a feminnine male, who thinks because of the society we live in, you have to be either or, and you feel more comfortable just being a girl instead of a boy! But that isnt necessarily the truth. And you should wait awhile before you go ahead and make yourself a female on the outside! biologically and scientifically, and surgically!!!! You said you missed being a feminnine guy that hung out with the girls. That is you acknowledging to yourself, that you are a male, but more femminine than the other males around you, and you connect with and enjoy, and prefer the company of other females more than the other males.. I feel like that too and i am not gay or femminine, or feel that i am .. BUT i was raised by a 17yr old single mother, who was a " typical girl" ... So i know that all my " femminine comfortable ness " comes from that deep experience and bond i shared with my mother. But!! im unique myself in that im alot like a female in that im very emotional, but rational and logical too, i like to be organized, and neat and clean, and i cook and clean and shop and like to match my clothing, and make sure i smell good and look good when in public, and i am also more comfortable with women, but i am a man. And i am only physcially attracted to females, but im a leader, and feel like the protector like most men, and i dont take any shit from any other men, like most men and i like a female to be submissive, but i also am very nuturing and like to take care of the female and love kids, and want to be married some day and have a home and family and build a together with my wife too. I play sports, but im a musician, and writer, and artist, and i work out and like having muscles, but i also like to have romantic pic nics too, and i like preparing them as well!!! lol. So you see, if you could see me and knew me? You understand the signifigance in all of these details. And then you might compare that to yourself, and realize that you were born to be who you are! but you were also born a male! so you can be who you are, but who you are is also a male! just as the all the females that believe they are or were supposed to be born male! no. They were born who they are supposed to be! themselves, females. But! they are females who, like to work on cars! or like to play sports. And thats ok. IT just doest mean they have to go and unnatrually transform their bodies into male because they think they were supposed to be male! : / you see? SO please.. before you do anything else to your self, inside, and your body outside. Finish growing up. finish developing into YOU and just be YOURSELF. BUT you dont have to be a girl to be yourself. And listen, i KNOW how confusing and crazy it is growing up! ITs rough. no doubt about it. And everyone who is older than you has gone through it too! YOUR PARENTS HAVE WENT THROUGH THE VERY SAME THINGS YOU ARE GOING THROUGH!!! YEAHH, ITS JUST FOR THEM IT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME PERIOD.. AND IN THEIR TEENAGE DAYS SOCIETY WAS WHERE EVER IT WAS THEN.. AND THEY JUST LIKE YOU NOW, HAD TO DEAL WITH WHATEVER CRAP WAS GOING ON THEN IN THAT TIME ... BUT ITS THE SAME CRAP! being confused, having your own ideas, fighting with your parents, wanting to be whoever you think you are at the time, and being certain no one else besides your best friend if you even have one, understand what youre going through??? I mean, do you realize that EVERY KID IN YOUR HIGHSCHOOL IS FEELING AND THINKING AND FEELING AND GOING THROUGH 99% OF EVERYTHING YOU ARE THINKING, FEELING AND GOING THROUGH!!!!! ??? YEAHH AND ALL OF YOU PROBABLY DONT BELIEVE IT! BUT IF YOU LOOK AROUND AND LISTEN? YOU HAVE TO SEE THAT.. ITS TRUE! ITS LIFE.. WE ARE ALL MORE THE SAME THAN WE ARE DIFFERENT.. It just fasion, and tastes, and style, and preference... But we are all looking to fit in, and understand who we are within ourselves.. YOU are special! And you were made for a reason by GOD! And you have a purpose! a contribution you were given to share with the rest of the world! Like everyone else has their own too. But we all have free will too, and we have to all decide each of us, what we are going to do. And this is why God sent JESUS into the world years ago! to help any of us that wanted to know the TRUTH and WHAT IS WHAT? WHAT IS RIGHT? WHAT IS WRONG? AND WHY THAT IS??? AND IF THERE IS A GOD OR NOT? Im also a vegan! And i also knew when i was age 7 that it was wrong to kill animals and eat them! And actually, i had several of the thoughts and feelings you said you had when you were younger.. I think many of us have those same feelings and thoughts. but not many of us actually do anything about them.. And parents who have been conditioned too themselves, try to condition us when we are kids too. BUT thank GOD it doesnt always work! lol.. Anyway, if you would like to talk more? That would be ok. I mean on my end. Even if your parents read this and wanted to talk more with me? that would ok too. But dont think you HAVE TO BECOME A FEMALE BECAUSE YOU FEEL MORE FEMMININE... ok, i think i have said enough for now.. I will keep you in my prayers as well.. Follow your heart and be YOU! always... And when youre ready? Ask JESUS to show you he really is who he said he is! ( HE IS! ) And he will help you with EVERYTHING! xoxo

I know I'll get hate from this comment but this is my perspective on what your saying in the video and throughout life you are going to have people disagree with you...Just because you liked girl toys or my little pony does not mean your trans. Also, just because you wanted long hair does not mean your trans...Did you ever think that the anxious feeling that you would get from being seperated from girls was social anxiety?? Did you ever seek counseling for the thoughts and feelings that you were having? Sounds that you discovered about transgender people and thought to yourself "may be I'm transgender" because of such and such and started looking up on the internet and KZbin for answers. The internet is full of misleading information..The internet determines nothing.. I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but it seems that ideas were put into your head.. I'm posting this because I went through similar experiences at your age and I grew up and realized they were phases I was going through.. If I had a smart phone and KZbin back then I probably would have been convinced that I was gay or trans. Anyway, I mean what I say with respect and I wish you the best..
