Being the only black person in a space or class is so jarring but it's also empowering because now it's time to show up and show out! You're going to do great this semester!! So many young African American youth need to hear that and adopt such a mindset, and know it's alright to like. enjoy and embrace learning; especially difficult subjects that she's taking on.
