@@lesweetpea hey I have a question.what type of visa do you need to stay in Japan for at least 8 to 10 years
@lesweetpea3 жыл бұрын
@@xdiegoxhernandez339 it depends on what your in Japan for. Most work visas are 1-3 years and you have to go and renew it every time is expires. You can’t really get a 8-10 year visa right off that bat. Student visas are for however long you are in school, but you have to renew them too if necessary.

I'm curious, is Genki ok for self study? I've been wanting to get it, but I've heard lots of people saying it isn't great for self study.
@lesweetpea3 жыл бұрын
I think Genki would be amazing for self-study! I use it quite often to study or to look back at information since I'm not taking classes anymore. Only thing I would say to be careful of is your pronunciation and to pay attention to the stroke order for kanji, hiragana, and katakana. Other than that, I think it'd be great. You can learn pronunciation from a site like Mango Languages or iPhone apps.

So the Genki book teaches the same thing as what you learned in class, but were you reading the Genki in class or did they have another teaching method? I mean besides the reading passages.
@lesweetpea3 жыл бұрын
We went through the lessons in the book! Besides the book, we’d do partner exercises with the book & tests, quizzes, essays etc. Of course the class setting is going to be different, but probably 60-70% of the class was heavily based on the books. The rest was worksheets from the teacher, projects, speeches, etc.
