Today I will talk about how exactly I was able to learn korean. My story may be different from yours, so tell me how you were able to learn korean. I tried self studying korean, I watched a lot of korean dramas, I even went to a language school in Seoul Korea! My journey was a fun one, but it isn't over yet. I hope to return and try out another korean school to get over the intermediate plateau.

I started to learn Korean I think after a year of discovering Kpop. I just fell in love with the language so I first started trying to learn in 2018 but life got busy so I wasn’t studying consistently like at all for like over a year but last year I resumed and I’ve been studying consistently since November 2020.

I went for 3 months and needed around 2200€ for traveling, shopping and living expenses in general, an additional 1200€ for my language program + dorm room and 600€ for my flights to and from korea. Id save around 4000-5000€ in total, depending on how much you plan on traveling over there. (I traveled to jeju and busan for example, which was included in the 2000€ above, went shopping too but didnt do any crazy huge shopping trips) I just lived with my parents and got a full time job for half a year, saved everything and boom there you go ^^

I think I started in late 2015 when My sister introduced me to kpop I was 10 years old And I really just tried my best to go through Pinterest and just learnt common phrases used in dramas, but that was like the first week so I still had no idea how to read and was just trying to make out the romanized version of everything then I started to learn Hangul and I think I had it down in like and hour it was really eat for me idky then I found out it was hard for others and have basically just been living my life as the main character of every kdrama I have watched ever. Lmao but honestly I was so passionate about Korean and Korea just because it seemed so unreal to me and as a ten year old having to act 20 and being bullied for reason I'm still not aware of, it comforted me and I think that's how I was able to learn it so fast and so well especially being a self taught 10/11 year old. After about a year I stopped watching dramas with subtitles and tbh I'm just really thank full for kpop and Korean and just Korea in general for existing. So that why/how I got into Korean/kpop and kdramas. Ily btw your so cool and I love all you videos you literally so therapeutic haha✨💛

I started studying korean in 2018, went to a korean uni to study in 2019 and since 2020 I'm taking online classes at 세종학당, I'm on the upper end of being an intermediate speaker, however it still feels like I should know more considering Ive been studying for a few years now :/ Ive struggled with the only being able to study in classes thing as well and recommend 세종학당 to everyone out there!! They have institutes all over the world that provide korean online classes for free! They literally saved my korean learning progress haha

I attended classes for a while and learnt the basics! I wasn't confident enough to practice with my teachers, but that gradually changed. I started to talk more and more and I binge-watched kdramas as well to make my listening comprehension a bit better! After practicing with my teachers a bit, I started to talk to myself in Korean and I feel like that helped me a lot! I am now much more confident and comfortable in speaking :)

I became interested in learning Korean after Learn Korean with BTS came out. I remember watching Whitney Bae videos years ago and thinking how cool it was she spoke Korean, but I was interested in learning it myself. I only started listening to KPOP in 2018. I'm currently being extra and taking 3 classes from different centers. It seems as though most "polyglots" are against classes, but I learned the best from classes and don't feel the need for one-on-one at my current level.

I always thought it was cool people could learn languages so last year summer I decided to learn Spanish because everyone told me it would be the easiest. During the summer I made the best progress because I would spend 4 hours watching the same topic over and over again or reviewing my notes. Now almost a year later I can’t wait for summer to make the best progress again. In the school year during breaks I would most of my time studying but besides that I just had input. This summer my goal is vocab, speak, vocab, speak. I already have friends from Mexico, Ecuador and Argentina so I can’t wait!

Outstanding video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.

it's been "slightly" over a year since I first started learning hangul - I actually managed to visit Korea in early 2020 and I decided to learn hangul in case I get lost and need to at least find out where I am lol, but I've been going on small group lessons since last September and I'm set on going to the language institute in Korea too. So that's what I am currently saving money for :D Hope to be there already in the upcoming September. Take care!

I decided to take Korean seriously 7 months ago. I tried to learn Korean before that, but I kept falling off and I wasn't really interested I guess. My dad inspired me to get back into it. I was learning from scratch so I didn't know ANYTHING. I started off with Duolingo and it didn't really tell me what I was learning. It just gave me these symbols to pronounce and practice on. After about a month I knew what Hangul was 🙄. It shouldn't have taken me that long to figure out what I was learning, but it worked out I guess. Thennn.. one of your videos were recommended to me (It was the one where you were showing us apps you use) I installed some of them and it helped a lot. I was pretty much learning Korean with game apps for 3 months until Christmas came and my parents bought me books. Korean is fun and kinda easy to learn. I'm just a really lazy person and I don't have a lot of motivation so.. it's a slow process. I can read Korean and pronounce it, but I'm still a beginner. With me being shy and hating the way I sound when I speak Korean, it takes away my communication skills. I'm 13 btw.. I started last year 💃🏾. Oh yeah and K-pop/Korean culture is what inspires me 😁💜💜.

Yessss.. The golden era of Kpop is where I started. That got me interested but not enough to actually learn the language... I only started learning Korean seriously back in August and I have been learning on and off. I can't seem to stick with a schedule of learning consistently every day. I don't know why. I think I'm just lazy which really sucks! I'll need to focus harder and purchase some actual workbooks for myself. It would also help to have some Korean friends. Lol.

i know how to read & write in hangul, i also know a few korean words. when getting down to actually learning sentences & more vocabulary i struggle a lot. mainly because of informal and formal. i use hellotalk to interact with native korean speakers and they often tell me different translations, one person will say one thing and the other will say another thing i just get so confused. so really my question is, did you start learning formal or informal korean? it confuses me so much. it feels like i need to learn 2 languages :( !! thank u

I can relate to overestimating your language skills. I can speak Japanese pretty well one on one. Being in the US I pretty much only speak to Japanese people one on one either through language exchange or an iTalki lesson. And I was thinking my Japanese must have gotten so good since I left Japan. But in reality they're dumbing down their Japanese so a foreigner can understand it. If I go to Japan real Japanese will kick my ass again I'm sure (if I stop and honestly think about it).
