knowing some music theory is helpful! i have been a pianist for a decade so it definietly helps a lot with starting producing (just started around two months ago) of course you don’t have to be as extensive as me with taking like five years of music theory tests, there may be so helpful basic music theory videos on youtube/internet! i also love using separate instruments for chords, melody, bass, etc. keep going ❤

I know it's kind of late telling you this, but to stop the note playing when it's not drawn in the piano roll, you can click the sample from the menu of sounds, and then go to the ADSR panel (2nd tab I think it). Now turn off everything to 0 but except the Sustain (or Hold), you want to set that to 100. Idk if you did that later on the video because I only watched 3 mins

as a 15 year old producer myself this is a going a long journey to progress through but sum tips i can give you is 1: go to the channel rack and import the sound and go to the tool wrench tab and envelope your sounds so they dont clash with eachother 2:learn music theory 3: have fun with it, enjoy the time of making beats because soon its going to become a habit.

@43:34 I think the ghost sound you’re talking about is there because those samples are on loop within the channel. You have to uncheck “use loop points” or lower the crossfade to 0. If that makes no sense, at least you can search those words now 👍👍
