Of course I mainly record black metal, so “good” production isn’t always the end all be all. But I like to make breakcore and other kinds of electronic music, and I think GarageBand is super user friendly and really versatile for a free DAW. Even on the iPhone, I’m able to do almost anything accept compose midi using virtual sheet, which tends to be a bit easier for me than using the piano roll.

For people wondering yes it is possible to make good beats on garage band. I started producing on garage band and at first it's difficult but once you understand it it's much easier. The trick for drums is to put one shots into the sampler so you can get better quality. Trust me DO NOT get de motivated if you use garageband, my most popular video on youtube with 16K views is a beat made on garageband and also my first few sales where beats made on garageband. I've now switched to FL Studio for obvious reasons but for people just coming into producing Garageband isn't bad to use.
