Cool video. I watched a guy explaining the chemistry of Ferric Chloride. If you simply mix it with 3 parts water then it becomes Hydrochloric Acid. This will completely blacken stainless steel in about 1 and a half minutes

What would happen if your blade has a stamped logo or metal identification number? Would it remain legible?

It should, it eats the highs and the lows equally. unless the stamp has paint or a sealant or some kind of barrier between the acid and the metal.

Dreamy Depression okay man, you need safety glasses and chemical resistant rubber gloves and a minimum. If you want to go over the top with safety, face shield, plastic apron. Tools you need two plastic buckets with a lid, one full of your ferric and water and one full of water with lots of baking soda mixed in. The baking soda is to neutralize all the acid

@@Hosenhoffen I have 945ml of unused Ferric Chloride I want to dispose off. Any idea of the water ratio to FC I need before neutralising into the the Soda/water? It's frustrating to see many videos on how toetch with FC, but no videos detailing disposing of it.
