I finally got around to learning Japanese (something I’ve been wanting to do for the longest time) in quarantine! I have been studying completely on my own (and of course, for free online, oh the marvels of the internet!), and here’s where I am after 30 days. I am totally still at a basic level (welcome any feedback!) & may not speak great after 1 month of self-study, but I’m happy with my 30-day progress nonetheless, and am excited to see how far I can take Japanese moving forward. It’s not a fast process but it’s certainly possible and oh-so-rewarding, so I hope this video inspires some of you to start your own language learning journey (or continue it)!
Learning a language isn’t as hard as most people think - it’s really just creating a strategy, implementing it and having a ton of discipline + consistency. Let me know if you’d like to see videos of me sharing (1) my own language learning journey (I used to hate learning languages lol) or (2) tips on how to self-study a language or (3) just tips on language study in general :)
Maybe one day in the future I’ll do a video of how my Japanese progresses over time too.

📓. The best bullet journal I’ve personally used -
*Scrivwell Dotted A5 Hardcover Notebook - 208 pages
amzn.to/35EthrH
(thick pages, great quality, and this is the cheapest I could find - I literally went on Amazon and calculated the cost of each journal / page!)
📓. You can also check out *this one for fewer pages - amzn.to/2Dosj8y
*My favourite stationery for journaling:
✏️. Zebra Midliners (Highlighters) - amzn.to/3jWqgJV
✏️. Black Copic Markers - amzn.to/3gsKDfm
✏️. Pilot Juice Gel Ink Ballpoint Pens - amzn.to/3jWqZL9
✏️. Whatever pens I have lying around :)
*Filming Gear (some people have asked, so here’s what I use):
📷 Canon G7X Mark ii - amzn.to/3ghRQiy
📷 UBeesize Tripod (Mini) - amzn.to/3fiuiJ5
📷 Manfrotto Tripod (Larger) - amzn.to/313prq1 (might not be the best - I suggest to research more!)
📷 I edit using Final Cut Pro, but you honestly don't need it if you have a Mac - iMovie works fantastic too!
