Beautiful, You make it look so easy, i think I could do it.

I use a similar method to hoist my 9’ nesting dinghy on board. The biggest difference being that I named mine ‘Flapjack”😂 Good video, greetings from the UK.

@Offatatangent Thank you ! I would love to visit the UK but my boat is not made for crossing oceans, so I will have to content myself with the Bahamas. And maybe the Caribbean ! 😉👍

Nice video...I have an 8' hard dinghy but purchased an inflatable...love it. 3 hp Merc which weighs nothing. We hoist and stow exactly the same way, works great. I can see the advantages of your hard dinghy though, looks awesome! Good sailing! Mike and Ally 🇨🇦 S/V Bears Mistress II

@@michaellippmann4474 Thank you! I am definitely happy with my "Fat Cat." I think the biggest plus has to be the amount of room. But an inflatable definitely has more load capacity. My choice works for me because I'm solo. 😉👍

Would have loved to have seen the foredeck after you had the dinghy aboard. Thanks for the video.

@SoItGoesCAL34 I really meant to do that ! Still trying to learn how to make better videos. Thanks for pointing that out. 😉👍

Here's an idea: get a couple of swim noodles. Slice them lengthwise, and snap them over your lifelines and zip tie them, in the area where you hoist the dinghy aboard. This will save wear and tear on your lifelines and stanchions.
@sailingonabudget6 күн бұрын
@JerseyShorePirate That is a good idea. What's actually on there now are just plastic shroud covers, but an extra layer wouldn't hurt. 👍
@KeepItSimpleSailor5 күн бұрын
Pool noodles disintegrate in the sun very quickly, crumbling plastics straight into the water. You’d be better off with PVC pipe
@JOHNALOOPONE5 күн бұрын
I was just going to say I put sections of swim noodles in Sunbrella to put under the dinghy front back and side to save the glorious gelcoat.

Had same dinghy, it was great stable and easy to plane even with lot's of weight. Only thing is that it could be lighter if it was build with something else than plastic and didn't have two layers of it.
@sailingonabudget6 күн бұрын
@@alexforget What motor did you have to get it plane ? I only have a Suzuki 2.5hp. It's rated to 5hp. 🤔
@alexforget6 күн бұрын
@@sailingonabudget We had an old 9.9hp two stroke. More than the rating, but was going very well. One thing with two stroke is that is it get the boat get faster the engine get more powerfull.

I thought you still had an engine on it and thought to myself, that can’t be good. How do you want to pull it up in like the Bahamas when you know you put it back in the water in the morning?

@pironiero I hear ya ! Lol. As a musician and drummer whose into sound I know and have used noise gates for PA systems. The software I use has the function but I don't like the way it sounds. Too muffled. Sometimes it just is what it is. 🫤👍

@sailingonabudget then why didn't you use it, it's literally four clicks to get rid of like 90% of that background noise
