Looks like your watermaker is a lot like ours we put together a few months ago. Same pump, same mfg of membrane housing (our is 2.5x21). Been working great and cranks out 5-7 gph which is perfect for us. We are bouncing around south Florida waiting for a good to to go to Bahamas as well.
@sailingonabudget
@sailingonabudget 3 күн бұрын
@@svtenacity So you were able to make it work with the 21" ? I probably would have done that if I'd known. I didn't think the pump would support that kind of flow rate. Did you use a boost pump ?
@svtenacity
@svtenacity 3 күн бұрын
Yep. I wondered too, but did the math and the 21 was going to work on paper. The pump keeps up no problem, we have no issues keeping pressure at 800 with a really good flow. I've cranked it to 1000psi for test purposes and it keeps up but really works the pump hard. I think our boost pump is similar to the one you used. It provides about 5psi and while the high pressure pump is below waterline, we need the boost pump as the filters are mounted higher for ease of service.

How did you get your brackets form leaning I’ve torque them to the 90lbs and used the set screw and they always lean in starting to think that’s how it’s supposed to be
@sailingonabudget
@sailingonabudget 17 күн бұрын
So they do take a lean, I think it depends on the size of the trailer chassis. I don't see that it matters because they are under tension anyway. I remember when I installed it I just went ahead and gave them that bit of lean because you could see that's what was going to happen. I have not had a problem with it. Hope this helps ! 👍

However it is a dream of mine and I am a certified marine tech so I know how to do any repairs that it needs now or come up so i think I am going to go for it. Might end up selling my music gear and gun collection for parts but that is OK.
