I cannot describe the number of times I checked my youtube video settings thinking I was playing the video at low quality just to realize it was the game aesthetics all along. Well played sir, well played.

Putting it at a low resolution makes it possible to get away with a worse looking game ;)

Amazing Work. I suggest smooth the transition between the normal and fear state (it looks pretty rough) Adding more sound variety will make moments of fear more unique (floorboards, flickering, any other sounds) Change the lightning sounds, it sounds like a old gunshot mixed with an explosion (add variety to the sound and the flash pattern of the light)
@JensDev2 жыл бұрын
You're right, I'm planning on making a transition and it should be quite easy to implement actually, I just felt like it wasn't a priority right now! I'm currently quite limited with the sounds so a lot of it is placeholders right now, especially the lighting strike, it has some background noise too that is ruining it even more. Perhaps I should just learn to make the sounds myself haha

Really nice game. I love the graphics style you went for. A few suggestions, makr the lights go off for a second when the lightning strikes. Like pitch black... Then change some elements... Since this is a multiplayer game, you can teleport the players away from each other at this pitch black interval. It might bring a spooky atmosphere when the players have to find where they are... Overall really cool 👍🏻
@JensDev2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! You're right, it would make it more realistic the way you suggested. I like that, I'm gonna work on implementing the changing elements part, great suggestion! I have some plans for separating the players, we'll see if I can implement some of that to the next devlog!

Hey, I'm taking a break from it, I didn't manage to pull off the AI I needed for the game so I think I need some more experience before tackling that. Sorry about that :/
@thecakeisalie63922 жыл бұрын
@@JensDev Aw yeah man I know how that feels :( What is your planned roadmap for this game? Are you gonna do something closer to Phasmophobia or will it be more survival-horror focused? For the AI you could start with some sort of creepy dark levitating phantom similar to the Dementors from Harry Potter; at the beginning it could be more passive and just lurk the players through the make of random noises and the throwing of physics objects. As players complete puzzles, the phantom could become progressively more aggressive until it physically spawns and begin hunting the players through the whole mansion! You can even make the lights flicker when the Phantom is close as a warning for the players, so they can have a chance to hide. Just an idea for you, I'm very interested in this project and I already sub to your channel, so won't miss anything! Keep the good work, from a fellow Unreal developer :)

The Only 3D Horror Games I Love are in a Form of Story with Fictional Genre Cartoon Characters Forms That Has Sad Backstories like The Characters are Made By Them were Humans Before That Got Experimented By an Enemy. And The Player is Exploring The Place for Inventigating The Story as Beating The Characters by Surviving and Solving Puzzles. Like Poppy Playtime and Garten Of BanBan. That’s The Only Thing What I Would Create 3D Horror Games in Unreal Engine

I Only Create 3D Scary Horror Games About Stories. Like Poppy Playtime is a Scary 3D Game The Story is About an Ex-Employee Came Back to Their Abandoned Toy Factory Called “PlayTime Co.” That was Shut Down for Centures. Garten Of BanBan is a Scary 3D Game The Story is About Us The Player Being a Random Parent Who’s Trying So Hard Finding Their Lost Child That was Lost in an Abandoned Kindergarten Called “BanBan’s Kindergarten” That was Shut Down for Decades. That’s The Only Way of How I Create 3D Horror Games in Unreal Engine. Writing a Story

But. Creating 3D Online Games. Is Not Just Setting Up Surfaces, Putting Buildings and Characters Sprite/Voice Acting. It’s About Games That Has Behind-The-Scenes and Beta/Prototype Appearances too. In The Hidden Files. Like Make The 3D Game a 3D Plain World of Blocky Gray Colorless Place. Then Improvise it in Lists. Called “GrayBox” and “Block-In”. That’s What I Think of 3D Animation Tests like OddBods Demo Reel and Poppy Playtime Character Animations in The Game. First it was Gray like GrayBox. Then Improvised it in Lists

omg. reminds me of resident evil 1. btw is there an easy way to import all the modular assets to your unreal project all at once with textures etc?
@JensDev2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can select all models and export them as one fbx file. When you import into unreal you can select that it creates a new material based off the fbx file and they get imported as seperate models. This works in most cases but for some reason it occasionally exports them all as one mesh and I can't figure out why haha
