Wow, dude, thats epic, I've done some miniatures of guitars too, but smaller, about 12cm (you can find Fender Mustang on my channel) and I know how time consuming it is. Love your tele, looks great.

@@kyman64 wow, I really love those hollowbody Gibsons, you nailed it perfectly. I've got a question, how are you making those small strings? And is there big tension to wood? Because of my tiny scale, all my models haven't got strings. I think I'll never be able to put them on, this is too small work for some precision and i use only paper templates for shapes, all glueing etc. is by the eye so, bridge propably wouldn't be lining the freatboard. But I'm glad you like it. I've done some little relic work, it was fun and I think it added some detail to the model, you should try it sometimes :D

@@0liver_549 For the strings, I use various types of fishing line, painted silver. Very little tension, but enough the keep them firmly in place.

I just picked up some wood tools. Dremel, sander, router. Started making little tiny guitars, about 11 inches long. NOTHING LIKE THESE though. Have been REALLY confused on where to get stuff for 'em. So - on the 3d printer - those metal parts are actually plastic or something painted to be metal? Man - great painting, too. Guess I better learn how to use an air brush if I'm going to continue on this. Making my pickups and bridges out of wood right now. What are you using for the frets? What is that? Looks like solder or some such. Thanks for the video - inspiring.

Hey Rick! Thanks for the nice comments! As for the metal parts, I created them with 3D software (3ds Max) and sent the files to a business that specializes in high resolution 3D printing. They are made of some sort of plastic, but I paint them to look metal. Still haven't found anything yet to look like real chrome. This was my first attempt at airbrushing anything. It wasn't too hard, just had to practice on scrap wood first. I use some wire I found at Lowe's for the frets, nothing fancy. I hope you can post pics of your guitars when you finish them.

Watched the two videos you have on carving the guitars. I have one question. What material do you use to make the hardware i.e. tuning pegs, bridge etc.
@kyman64
@kyman64 6 жыл бұрын
They printed with a 3D resin process

One of the best thai i have ever seen man! apart, how did you get the tuners, bridge and metal parts? did you buy them?
@kyman64
@kyman64 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! These are not kits, but are scratch built with real guitar hardwoods (mahogany, basswood, etc). All of the wood parts are cut and shaped by hand. I created the guitar hardware (the metal looking parts) using 3D software and printers.

All of the "hardware" was created by first modeling the parts in a 3D software, then I printed those parts with a 3D printer.

troy brady wow, when you said 3D printer I did not realize the printer could make them look so good & metal like. Awesome work
